i reside in garnant in south wales. i am a very sweet slightly odd holiday cottage with a penchant for the pastel and polka dotted. i am part of an old sunday school and a little geriatric (d.o.b 1884) please have a look at my pictures they should give you a good idea about me, but do not hestitate to email should you like to know anything else about my nooks and crannys or what its like round here. but heres a bit of info anyway.i was bought nearly 3 years ago by sammy and neak, i had been alone so long my roof had fallen in, i had no stairs, not much floor and a lot of rot, and single for 20 years they have completely skinted themselves but i am now dry warm and pretty. they also live next door where they run a recording studio, i am also available to bands who are recording with neak if they don't fancy bunk beds.so this is what i am about..... no more staying in places that look like your elderly aunts with no mod cons and magnolia walls, those bobbly polyester mix sheets and thin pillows. sod all that! i have feather duvets, high thread count bedlinen, big squishy sofas, wireless broadband, sky tv with all the movie channels, double ended roll top bath for 2, walls with colour on them (instead of the usual dried flowers and hanging plates and my most hated thing - magnolia!) far too much flowery polka dottyness and pink gingham (my inner girly granny took some acid and went crackers) but there is a pink kettle and not a toby jug in sight! i can also do b+b in low season or short notice (or diy b+b where everythings in the fridge for you to cook as late as you like - no more dragging yourself out of bed on the weekend - we will not kick you out of the house by 10 or any of that nonsense) i like dogs, hamsters, cats, fish, rabbits pretty much any animal is fine by me, i have no space for horses but there are several liverys locally. everyone is welcome.i consist ofmaster double bedroom - french antique upholstered bed, satin sheets available on request, champagne roses etc can be aranged for your arrival.second twin bedroom - 2 single metal day beds looks over the lawned cottage garden, and my poultry adorned 'garden' toosingle room - single bed - nothing particually exciting! cat optional (see pics)bathroom - roll top double ended bath big enough for 2 with overbath shower.downstairs - open plan lounge - with tv/dvd/video/sky/stereo and two big sofas footstool and armchair, dining area with seating for 7 (more can be arranged) and kitchen with an old butchers block and butler sink. back stable door and french doors opening onto your own bit of garden fenced off, with hardstanding up the side for secure storage of motor/pedal bikes. and a table, chairs, parasol and bbq outside. NEW.... we have incorporated a deco cocktail cabinet, with ice crusher, stirry things, shot + martini glasses, cocktail shaker etc etc bring your own booze and olives!The garden is secure unless you have an agility escape artist doggy who can climb!there is use of extra freezer capacity and washing machine and tumbler dryer available, we also have computer access (if you don't bring your own) fax machine scanner printer etc etc and a huge library of books videos and dvds you can borrow.if you are bringing your furry friends and are a bit squished in the car i can provide dog towels, beds, bowls all the trappings (apart from leads cos my new bonkers pup is eating about 2 a week!)i like children too but you are fully responsible for them at all times, i am not babyproofed, and there are breakables. dogs are welcome but please be aware that if they agressively chase other animals or are not good with other dogs or children they must be supervised at all times when out in the garden, also any damage caused by visiting animals/children/grown ups will be charged to the guest! but if they just have a bit of a scamper after a chicken or cat don't worry they're used to it! sammy and neak have a 3 year old of their own and can babysit, and dogsit if you fancy going out without the hassle of either ;0) i reccomend getting your food delivered, you can arrange it for the morning of your arrival and it will be in the fridge ready for you when you arrive (at no charge)we are walking distance from one of the best golf courses in the country, there is horse riding, walking, castles, fishing, soft play, mountains etc all within a couple of miles and swansea is 30 minute drive for the big shops and cinemas etcalso 30 - 60 minutes away there are...beaches, every sort you can imagine including all year road dog friendly beaches, millenium coastal walk, shooting, paintballing, archery, monkey sanctuary, show caves, antique shopping, folly farm (throughly reccomended especially for young children), pony sanctuary, oakwood (great theme park, suitable for older and younger children), forestry commision parks, resevoirs, candle making, chocolate factory, etc etc etcwales is easier by car but we are on a bus route and can pick guest up from swansea station for a small charge. there are many walks and places to go so if you don't have wheels we are suitable for you too!please note we are NON SMOKING, but you are welcome to hang out the stable door rather than huddle outside when its raining.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: -here is a link to my agencies website - the self catering prices are what my agency will charge if you book through them, plus booking fees and pet charges - BUT these are not the prices i charge - i always do a discount and can do weekends and last minute deals that are not available through my agent - so please feel free to have a look for further info etc but contact me for prices that are specifically for the dates and length of stay you would like. though if you prefer to pay the extra and book through them that is ok too!http://www.breconcottages.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=CM.co ttage&propref=SAMMi also sell the cottage through ebay - you can have a look at my feedback etc - search for seller kittykiss69 to bring up listingsi can also pencil dates with no obligation, if you need a little more time to confirm, this will give you first refusal on the dates you specify,MANY THANKSthe old school holiday cottage, and sammy neak and spikeCURRENT NEWSWe have just added 2 lavender turkeys to our menagerie, which includes 12 ducks (all raised from ickle eggs in ouor kitchen this year!) a lot of chickens, including some bigger chicks and 10 ex battery chickens which are still finding their feet (and feathers - it hideous the level of welfare we find acceptable to keep our animals) quails, ferrets and 10 cats and 3 dogs.
