Dave Miguel is back!!!

For some it may sound like a minor sensation, but for his huge group of fans, it’s a major one: Dave Miguel is back! Finally! After a three-year creative work break, the American star DJ is back in the spotlight with a new release. But Dave Miguel would not be Dave Miguel by simply producing a song and launching it in the conventional way. “That’s boring,” says the 32-year-old, well known for his superstar status and brilliant ideas. After all, everything he does takes place in new dimensions. His comeback on the dancefloor, in the DJ booth and naturally in the charts is being announced with an exclusive song for the fashion label edc by ESPRIT, before Miguel returns to rock the largest clubs in Europe on his Dave Miguel Headliner Tour.

Initial colleagues and critics given the exclusive opportunity to listen to his track “The new Waveation” have to admit that it is a chart-topper: absolutely catchy, absolutely danceable, absolutely Dave Miguel. And absolutely a hit! But one would expect nothing less from Dave Miguel. His exceptional musical talent was already discovered early on. He mastered several instruments (including piano and violin) as a child, before discovering his love for electronic music as a teenager. His world is the one behind the controls. At the tender age of 17 (!), his debut track “Here I Come” was released on Impress Records. At that time, he was resident DJ in L.A.’s legendary Prison Club. What came next is already recording history. His debut song was such a resounding success that it’s still in everyone’s ears today. Dave Miguel is the trendsetter of the DJ world; his new, outlandish sounds are always a sensation, his striking appearance has turned him into a much sought after model, his DJ gigs around the globe are the cause of ecstasy for his fans and a lack of sleep for Miguel. Due to his enormous workload, he decided to take a break from his breathtaking career in 2004 after his critically acclaimed world tour.

Just a reminder: at the Annual Dance Awards, Dave Miguel was honoured in the categories “Best DJ” (2000/2001/2002), “Best Remix” (2000), “Best Dance Track” (2001/2004) and “Best Album” (2002). His albums “Here I Come” (1993) and “My Impressions” (2004) were highly acclaimed, and not only by the critics; his mix compilations, including “Dance Tonight” (1997), “Ibiza Impressions Pt.1” (1999), “Ibiza Impressions Pt. 2”(2001) and “House Lovers” (2003), are must-haves for any fan of House. What’s more, already in 1993, he was voted by “Peopz Mag” as “Best Electronic DJ Newcomer,” while “Dancelife Magazine” rated him the “Best Electronic DJ” in 2005. His worldwide superstar status has also been recognised by “African Vibes Magazine,” which in 2000 distinguished him with the honour “Most Voted Remix of South Africa”.

Dave Miguel’s world spins a bit faster that that of others, and he feels at home in every corner of the globe. His festival stations read like a “places to be” listing: Beach Landings Festival 2001 (Thailand), Maya 2002 (Columbia), Red Sensational Festival 1998 (China), Electronic Harbour Night 2001 (Sydney), 3rd Desert Sun 2000 (Israel), Acoustic Feelings 2003 (Brazil), Canadian Feelings 1998 (Canada), House Nation 1999 (USA), ftev 1999 (feel the electronic vibes/India), Sandstock 1998 (United Arab Emirates), Green Island Festival 1997 (Greenland), Electronic Valley 1999 (USA), Minedigger Vibes 2000 (USA) and Electronic Sail Night 1999 (Caribbean).Collaborations with artists such as Samantha Rey, Ryan Ferror or Enrique Nomas can only be name-dropped, since the list would assume alarming proportions. Dave Miguel is particularly proud of the fact that in 2001, he played a live set on the Great Wall of China for 500 selected fans.

But today, Dave Miguel isn’t looking back—nor is he resting on his laurels. His future is set to explode once again on the world’s dancefloors, which he will soon be rocking with his fresh release “The new Waveation.” A track that one can confidently call the comeback of the year—a huge sensation!
