Hollywood Heartbeat is helping put San Diegos electronic-influenced scene on the map. Hollywood Heartbeat was conceived beyond the confines of genre as a concept rather than a formula. Giving the cold shoulder to music classifications, its members decided simply to play the music that they wanted to hear. What resulted was a raucous mix of electronic, new-wave, indie, screamo, and disco-punk elements that make each song as unique as the next. With the use of synth and drum programming as well as live instruments and vocals, Hollywood Heartbeat mixes traditional and electronically fabricated ingredients into their musical recipes. As they help pioneer an emerging trend of electro-[insert genre here] music, they are also doing their part to bring back music as a stimulus for dancing. As an integral part of the scene they are helping to bolster, Hollywood Heartbeat have their finger on San Diegos electronic pulse.
