Theo Tucker has been singing and performing in church since the early age of eight. Until the age of 17, Theo had never rapped in his life. He was known throughout his high school, however, as an excellent writer and a human "beat box", always providing on-the-spot beats and rhythms for the local rappers. It wasn't until he heard the single "I Am", by the Cross Movement, one of gospels' hottest hip-hop artists, that God revealed to him that he had a gift for doing this. After rapping over several Cross Movement and Gospel Gangsta songs, he began to write his own material. As he continued to write, Theo started to get a strong desire to let his words be heard by the masses, hoping to minister to their spirits. Theo realized that God had put an anointed message within his lyrics. In 2004, he signed with U.G.M.A.C. Music Group, Inc.(Under God's Management And Control), and released his debut gospel hip-hop album, Meant For Something Great in October 2004.Besides being a gospel rapper, though, Theo is also an anointed singer. As a praise and worship singer and choir director at his church, Christian Tabernacle Church in Southfield, MI, Theo has been under the tutelage of his mentor, Min. Bill Moss Jr. Theo sang with Bill's BMJ Project on his debut album and live recording, Manifested Favor: The BMJ Project, on which he co-wrote a couple of pieces. Theo has also done background work for Bill and Essie Moss, and Evelyn Turrentine-Agee. Theo has shared the stage with Kirk Franklin, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Martha Munizzi, Kiera "KiKi" Sheard, 21:03, Hot Sauce, God's Army, and others.It's round two for Theo, and he's coming out swinging!!! His upcoming CD, "New Life: Reborn", will feature Theo's praise and worship material, and his classic rap style, in an effort to "bridge the gap," between rap and worship. He has also extending his writing skills beyond music, in his debut book, "Let's Get Real: Issues of Today's Youth." The book is available at www.publishamerica.com. Theo has also founded R.E.Y.A. Ministries - Revealing Excellence in Young Adults. REYA is dedicated to ministering to young adults through gospel music, dance, and motivational speaking. Theo is currently coordinating a "Real Talk Experience" tour for 2010.
