Influences: My first influences in music is Salsa and old spanish records that my dad used to play...I listened to a lot of freestyle and old club shit that used to be on the radio in the mid 80's when I was in El Paso, TX. I really started getting into hip hop around '86 when I was living in Germany. Got introduced to electronic music on accident. (Thanks Josh! Remember that Chemical Brothers video on AMP?) That turned me on to the rave scene in the late 90s. Then I heard a jungle mixtape that I got from my homeboy Ocelot's brother, DJ Durante out of Michigan. That was the turning point. First song on that tape was Champion DJ by Congo Natty... At the time, there was nothing better...that was the kickstart. I began spinning in '99...I started off learning to beatmatch simple house/techno beats. As I got better and acquired more diverse records, I started getting more into the ragga jungle sound, the kinda shit that made my hair stand up and my face melt!! (You know what I'm talking about!) Moved back to Colorado in 2004 after gone for 7 years, and found out that my homeboys were into the DJ/Production game as well....At that point, I stepped my game up. Started practicing a whole lot of scratching and beat-juggling. Now, 4-5 years later, I'm a menace!! :pMy specialty is doing mash-ups, live remixes made by spinning two different records at the same time. I don't like sticking to one style....I can mix and match all kinds of shit. Some weird freestyle remixes have gone down in my apartment at like 4 in the morning after partying all night!! I have all kinds of different records in my catalogue, from JDilla to Rick James and everything in between!
Sounds Like: Rudebwoy soundclash style jungle mashups, mixed with old school hip-hop turntablism.
