So then Dr Freud said all I needed was to cultivate a few inhibitions and get some sleep...

About Me

I'm a 26 year old woman living in the bedroom I grew up in, but at least its redecorated now. Attempting to have a rock n' roll life (and finding out it's harder than I remembered). I dig books, music, movies, witty banter, cold cheap beer, sarcasam, and cartoons.Everbody has to do something for income, and until I figure out how to be independantly wealthy I am a supervisor in the oh so hip Whole Foods. I enjoy the heck out of my job, chatting with strangers and getting paid for it is cool. Of course I realized that the reason they increase your pay upon becoming a supervisor is because you have to deal with every customer who had a problem. I see per capita more crazy, cranky, and bitchy people now than ever before. Ah well, I think it's improving my ability to be nice to the faces of people who;'d I really like to throw things at.I spent nearly five years in Gainesville, going to UF for most of the time. However didn't get the degree wrapped up yet. My lack of real planning is not a recent problem. I know I want to work in the school system, high school preferably. Now the choice is between History teacher and "Media Specialist", that will be the tough choice. I've got a ton of credits just not enough of the other crap to make up a whole degree.Plans are still nebulous but at least they're starting to line up. New directions bring new stresses of course. New methods of self- medication currently being considered, although not seriously. If vices are a sign of the life you've lived then I'll have to stick with the few I've already got. New hobbies, ideas, plans, and friends are being seriously considered. That screening process is tough, but worth it.Stuck in the middle, rounding the sharp left hand turn that appears after "college time" and before "grown up time". True, you can't go home again, but sometimes you still gotta go back to living with your parents."The first thing you lose on a diet is brain mass." -Margaret Cho "In three words I can sum up everytyhing I've learned about life: it goes on." -Robert Frost "I like people and I like them to like me, but I wear my heart where God put it- on the inside."- F. Scott Fitzgerald

My Interests

Hmm....aside from music, books, movies, my friends, dancing, and having a good time in general there is still a ton more. I love my digital camera. I'm no photographer or anything but I have taken some pictures that came out well. Now I just need to figure out what to do with them all. I'm also into cars, old American ones are best, rusty or restored. New ones are alright too, fast is fast. No weird sticker covered, 8000 speaker having, huge mufflered, low riders though, they're just not for me. I also really like art, modern is great. I do apprectiate a nice picture of something that looks like what it really is too though. But it's not just regular old wall art I enjoy, but public art, sculpture, conceptual, and whathaveyou. Art is usually free or pretty cheap to look at, and anything free that makes you think has got to be good. Free stuff, another interest of mine, goes along with cheap stuff. This means all thrift shops, yard sales, white elephant sales, and flea markets hold a perticular draw. This interest is most directly related to my interest in all things tacky and bizarre. Tattoos, I'm quite interested in them too. I've just got one, but have been admiring the art of others since I can remember. The subject matter is subjective, beauty is different for all. I just appreciate a well proportioned well thought out piece of design. This is probably linked to the whole art thing. This could take a while really....

I'd like to meet:

I'm going! So going to hit my first festival! Yay! ok so camping...hmm that'll be interesting.Everybody! Well ok not everybody but there definately plenty of people I would like to meet. The qualities I like in people are hard to tell from a far. So I just talk to everybody most all the time. I like people who are open and honest, good natured and at least somewhat optamistic. I do not have a great history of making and keeping female friends, no good reason just not a girl's girl I suppose. However I do enjoy having fun girl friends who like going booty shakin', man watching, beer drinking, and making the occasional snide comment about a stranger. I have found that women with independant, rable rousing tendencies are the ones I get along best with. I'm recently single again. So eh, who knows. I'm not really looking but you never know what will happen. Right now I'm just happy to be able to be myself again with no restrictions and no cencorship. Hello field, I'm back.

Movies:

Movies are great. No horror movies please, unless they're in black and white, and then still only on a case by case bases. Oh except for zombies, I dig them. Everything else is golden. As far as favorites go: Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Big Labowski, Donnie Darko & the Directors cut (it's almost a whole different movie), Tommy Boy, Boondock Saints, When Harry Met Sally, Dawn of the Dead, Wayne's World, The Wizard of Oz, Drowning Mona, and Mallrats. ......

Television:

The History Channel, the Travel Channel, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, A&E....ohh educational.I like those shows about places I've never been and stuff I've never seen. Like Survivorman, Stranded with Cash Peters, No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain, Biography, City Confidential, oh and Mythbusters and Auto Maniacs. Also I love Project Runway. Reality tv with sewing, awesome.I also dig cartoons, especially ones with sarcastic humor and borderlne dirty jokes, i.e. The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, SeaLab2021, The Oblongs, etc. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy is, fantastic stuff, Death has a Jamacian accent.......
