RIOTBEATSHOT [are fucking dead]

WE QUIT!
yes, unfortunately this is not a joke. RIOTBEATSHOT will break up. we had a hard time thinking about alternatives, but once it was said there was no turning back. due to several reasons, we're no more willing to continue this band. we hoped there would be some other way to finish this, but there are some private reasons we do not want to treat publicly. so we hope those who appreciated and supported what we did and what we stood for will forgive us for giving in that way. we are really, really sorry and hopefully our friends will understand that. in the last 6 years we had lots of highs and of course lows, but the fact that this band was founded on friendship helped a lot to move on.
since we started the band, we did not only play far more than 150 concerts, but we also founded our label BOMBBACK RECORDS and took over the booking of the CAFE NOVA, our homebase! in those years, we really tried hard to get things going, not only for us, but also for bands we are friends with. we spent so much time, effort and money even though we knew that most of it would never be respected or paid back in any way. that was the way we chose it. we are now at a point we can't afford to invest more of our time, money and love in this band as all of us are about to witness important changes in our lives. this is why we have to call it quits and there will be definitely no reunion or any similar thing, it's all or nothing. we recorded a couple of songs recently, which should originally be released on an ep, but now we will sell them for little cash as demos on our last show at cafe nova to cover our debts and costs we still have to pay. despite all our ideals, the whole thing does not work without money and we hate the fact that this is also one of the reasons which forces us to quit.
of course, there are tons of friends we made in that time and lots of great memories we shared with so many cool people. we grew with this band and its challenges. we want to thank christoph who played the guitar until last year and who wrote so many of our songs in the past. thank you! we sincerely want to thank all of you who supported us, who believed in us, who came to our shows and who made us going on. we will not post any names, because that list would be just too long and we probably would forget someone so those who feel adressed will know how much they mean to us! we want to thank our families and close friends for being so patient with us. too many times we've neglected so many people we love. we want to thank the bands we loved to share stages with, especially on our tours and abroad!
we don't want to stir too much attention with this, because we are just one of many bands. there are and there will be other bands doing what we did. we never had the aspiration to become the best musicians or the most popular hardcore band. otherwise we would have played different music and followed the trends. everyone who's seen us live on stage knows that our heart beats with the passion for hardcore music and all its positive aspects. we wish that anyone who reads this will go on supporting good music and bands who have something to say, nothing less!
ansgar and me will, of course, go on with our label and booking jobs. marcel will have to concentrate on his new job and leander will definitely go on making music in other bands and projects. we'll hopefully see everyone of you on our last show on 21 december at cafe nova. you'd do us a great favour by showing up at our last show.
