XAPEL is Paulo Lopes, born August, 5 1973 in a old Portuguese Colonia (Angola) and resident @ Madeira Island since 1975. Since very young he started to listen bands like Judas Priest, Doors, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, etc. He discovered Psytrance Music in 1996 at Lisbon where he lives from 1993 to 1999. In 2000 he return to Madeira Island and, because it’s very difficult to hear trance music in these Atlantics Paradise, he started with a few friends organizing some private parties at home and places like the mountains of Madeira, beginning here is passion for djiing. In the last two years the scene grows a lot, when the free and organized party’s began. At nowadays Xapel sets have a very personal and groovy style (Morning Full on, Goa Trance and High Tech). He has played in some parties sharing decks with artists like Alphastate, Blasphemy, Inocybe, Klacid, Fluxo, Korpora, DJane Ganeisha, D_Maniac, Psycotech, Psyfre@k, Shakti, Tryambaka, Sick Addiction and some others. In 2006 he start by himself to study a few DAWs and buy some equipment to bring to all this demo tracks!!
