About Me

There's not much to say here. I'm a strange person that fits into society in an unusual way. I'm rebellious, unconventional and free-spirited, but find boundaries make me feel stable. I'm in love with my kid. I love my husband. I love my housemates. But more than anything, I love God and I want to do what I believe in. So that's what we're focused on right now. Using what we have and trying to make a difference with it.
***If you are here because you like what we're doing with fair trade, add our Fair Trade Myspace Page. The page you are on is actually my personal page and won't feature bulletins about fair trade, our business etc. Our fair trade page has a fair trade blog, calendar, and will center on fair trade and our business developments. Thanks ***

Living Wage Clothing (Fair Trade T-shirts)

www.livingwageclothing.com
Living Wage Clothing is a fair trade clothing company specializing in cool, modern (non-hippie) blanks and silkscreened t-shirts in better quality with better colors -- that cost the same as non fair trade t-shirts. You can learn more about it at www.livingwageclothing.com In August, we're having a soft launch at the United Trade Show in Las Vegas. Our big launch will be in February 2008.
Here's a summary of what we're doing:
Mission Statement: Street style clothing that pays national and international workers a fair wage for their work. Our goal is to be one of many companies with this mission.
If anyone is interested in being involved in this, send me an email before adding me as a friend.

My Interests

Doing silly projects. Making movies. Dreaming about gigantic things. Analyzing human behavior. Laughing and feeling excited.

I'd like to meet:

People I Want to Meet on MySpace: Anyone into ethical/fair trade as it relates to a living wage (but email me first so I understand that's why you're requesting to be my friend). Anyone into alternative humor. Tammy Faye (I LOVE YOU!)

People I Only Want to Meet In Person:
I don't accept requests from people I don't know...or bands I don't love. If you fit the "Who I'd Like to Meet" description above, please send a note so I know what's up. Sorry to all you local bands out there, but I don't go to see shows that often (particularly of bands I'm not in love with). It's nothing personal. I am pickey about who I allow on my page.
..

Music:

Mix CDs.(Modest Mouse, Magnetic Fields, The Blow, The Weeds, Polyphonic Spree, Radiohead -- I don't want to put too many because of band friend requests that are searching by keywords here -- and also because usually I just like a few songs, not the whole album)

Movies:

Donnie Darko, Happiness of the Katakuris, the Others — errie movies with a surprise ending. Magnolia, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and other movies I can analyze. Reality documentaries with trivial subject matter like Hands on a Hardbody and Spelling Bee.

Television:

LOST, Arrested Development, Reruns of Little House on the Prarie and The Waltons, and Twin Peaks before it got Excorist. One more thought here-- Who are sitcoms geared at? Does anyone think they're funny?

Books:

A Prayer for Owen Meany. Crime and Punishment. Anna Karennina. And lots of other classic books.

Heroes:

Mother Teresa. Joan of Arc. Tammy Faye.
Plato, Socrates and all the other amazing Greeks.

God.

I just posted on Faith's blog and feel like I should post here too.As I've already said, the task of creating a fair trade line feels extremely above us. It's a national and international issue, and t...

Dreams that bring damage to life

I misunderstood the lines of a song, and thought the words were "some dreams bring damage to life". These aren't the words in the song, but they're the words that made me love and relate to the song. ...
