When one looks back over their life, what will they see? I have seen life from a front row seat. I have seen poverty in the ghettos of Cleveland where we would wait for food from the salvation army. I have seen death on the battlefields of Vietnam. I have seen happiness in the eyes of orphans in Korea and I have seen victory standing as number one in the South American Martial Arts Internationals in Venezuela. I have sang with the great"Jordenaires" of Elvis fame, and taken a guitar lesson from Chuck Berry himself. My life in martial arts opened so many doors and lead me to so many friends. The only thing left to do is pass on knowledge for those that we leave behind. The generation of today has lost the respect of yesterday. Knowledge is of no use unless it is passed on. For those of you that are true martial artist, it is your duty, not to make a million dollars, but to pay attention to the future of those you train. Train each student as though they were going to teach your child when you are no longer here. Train them as though they are the last student you will ever train. In days of old, a martial artist was a poet, a man of humor, an actor and finally a fighter for the truth and what is right. Is this you?Since 1965 I have been an instructor for the U.S. Army as well as a physical education professor in Cleveland, Ohio.I am presently teaching in Knoxville, Tennessee as well as traveling and doing seminars and clinics.
