I love to dance to canned or live music (wanna dance??), attend concerts, go camping, read, write, learn, watch movies, explore the superior lines and sounds of a Harley Davidson, yellow roses, traveling, bubble baths, garden, fire-side chats, discuss ANYTHING under the sun, my computer, "I Love Lucy" reruns, memorabilia , sushi, try different ethnic foods, a good Merlot, Halloween, Christmas, NYE *kisses*, a cool Spring breeze, whistling winds, collecting miniature shoes, looking at ol' photographs, County Fairs and Festivals, driving around town in the evening, with my windows down and hardtop off with my music blaring, tease, laugh, just hang out with my adult son, shop at flea markets, brouse antique stores and garage sales, big soft pretzels, pink cotton candy, tic tacs, Razzle Dazzle gum, fireworks, the sound of ocean waves, comfy sweats, lots of time alone, my dwindling collection of Birkenstocks, my Dansko clogs, cool Pez dispensers, my red Heavy Chevy a.k.a. The Bog Beast, Las Vega$, Disneyland, random celebrity trivia, comedy/improv shows, parasailing, interesting tattoos, beige (Sandstorm) or white Jeep Wranglers, dark green Jaguars, cuddling and smoochin' with that special somebody. He's out there somewhere and he's waiting for me. Let's hope we both aren't waiting forever. "Heart in my hand... take my hand... let's go"! (partial JK lyrics)For the past several years I have tried to add something interesting to my life that I enjoy participating in. So far I have taken salsa lessons, attended a tribal drumming weekend course (Taketina, world rhythm education), gone parasailing, went on my first cruise to Mexico, taken golf lessons, attended ARC-U classes centered on working and providing employment support to the developmentally disabled population, had my first and second tattoo inked in Vega$... anyhow, you get the idea. I'm a multi-faceted chick!!Please stand by for further updates...I would say the year 2005, is the year I took my career by the horns and decided I wanted to go into work every single day, and loving what I do and whom I work with. Life is too short to do anything less.
I'd like to meet:
People who enjoy discussing local politics and beyond...If you are a free thinker, a full-throttle-indepedent minded liberal or somebody who believes the U.S. needs to lose the Republican Party altogether, let's chat. ::smiling sweetly:: A girl can dream, can't she??? LOL!!Well, let's see... I am interested in talking to people about political issues, hot topics, today's news, celebrity gossip, travel, spirituality, poetry, Astrology, music, t.v., movies, remembrances from back-in-the-day, books, etc. Serious or fun stuff -- I am in!! I appreciate people with a wicked sense of humor. Care to make me laugh? Nothing breaks the ice like a good laugh.Someday, I'd love to get a small tattoo from Kat Von D (of Miami Ink/L.A. Ink fame). She is rockin' awesome!!
At this time... "My Ultimate Fantasy Date" would be with Jesse L. Martin. Hubba Hubba!! ::wink wink::
Vertical Horizon
Everything You Want
Somewhere there's speaking
It's already coming in
Oh and it's rising at the back of your mind
You never could get it
Unless you were fed it
Now you're here and you don't know why
But under skinned knees and the skid marks
Past the places where you used to learn
You howl and listen
Listen and wait for the
Echoes of angels who won't return
Chorus
He's everything you want
He's everything you need
He's everything inside of you
That you wish you could be
He says all the right things
At exactly the right time
But he means nothing to you
And you don't know why
You're waiting for someone
To put you together
You're waiting for someone to push you away
There's always another wound to discover
There's always something more you wish he'd say
Chorus
But you'll just sit tight
And watch it unwind
It's only what you're asking for
And you'll be just fine
With all of your time
It's only what you're waiting for
Out of the island
Into the highway
Past the places where you might have turned
You never did notice
But you still hide away
The anger of angels who won't return
Chorus
I am everything you want
I am everything you need
I am everything inside of you
That you wish you could be
I say all the right things
At exactly the right time
But I mean nothing to you and I don't know why
And I don't know why
Why
I don't know

Music:
I'm into World Music, oldies-but-goodies, R&B, classic rock, alt rock, disco, slinky jazz, the Blues, dance, pop, top 40, folk-rock, some Country... that is, if it doesn't make my ears bleed. I'll forever be an Elvis fan!! Turn me onto a new solo artist or some rockin' awesome group and I will be eternally grateful. I love a wordsmith-type of singer/songwriter (Alanis Morisette, Anna Nalick, Jill Knight, Amber Estrada, etc.).Check out Jill Knight, a local musician who often plays in San Francisco. She's ABFAB folks! Jill has a new album in the works -- she is busy recording in France (Oct. 2006). www.jillknight.comCheck out Amber Estrada, a local musician who often plays all over the Bay Area. She's really wonderful! www.amberestrada.comAmber Estrada
Movies:
If you enjoy watching and discussing films of today and yesteryear... let's chat. I love many different types of movies. I refuse to be pigeonholed! If you can make any interesting recommendations, feel free to give me a tip or two. I want to be moved by a film... I need to think, feel emotion, be entertained or something for God's sake. Movies are a beautiful way to communicate, they shouldn't be wasted on the numb-brained. I also really dig animated films and indie shorts. Want to attend a festival? In the meantime... "pass the popcorn, already!!"
Television:
Oh My Gawd!!This is where I let my hair down and get all funky-like. I love the diversion of evening t.v. Whether it is reality shows (Survivor, Small People-Big World, Surreal Life, Real World, Work Out, AI, Dancing With The Stars, Miami Ink, etc.) or good old fashioned, "classic" sitcoms, (I Love Lucy and The Honeymooners, etc.) or the newer classic sitcoms, (Seinfeld, Ellen, All In The Family, Roseanne, Golden Girls, Mad About You, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Cosby Show, Maude, King of Queens, etc.) or news programs (48 Hour Mystery, Dateline, PrimeTime Live, Meet The Press), cartoons (Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby Doo, Sponge Bob, Real Monsters, etc.) or even documentaries on PBS. And, I can't forget, my all time favorite drama... "thirtysomething". Perfection in every note!! I am here to tell you... there is a time and place for brainless t.v. viewing... it's all about my down time, Baby!!! I wouldn't have it any other way. You can agree with me or disagree (that's up to you)... just don't hog the remote.
Books:
The Bible, by God Almighty. The Power of Myth, by Joseph Campbell (1904-1987). He was a well respected American writer on mythology and comparative religion. The information he goes over in this book makes for a compelling read.Visits from the Afterlife, by Sylvia Browne. I highly recommend this book. On a side note: I have personally had a reading with Sylvia back in 1992 (and one with her son, Christopher Dufresne). They were both positive experiences. For every new single parent, I highly recommend... Operating Instructions: A Journal of My Son's First Year, by Anne Lamott. It's clear she's quite the spitfire and what a brilliant writer too boot!!img src="http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b328/hdMandy/AnneLamo

Lucille Ball (in a class all her own!!), Jason Alexander, Jonathan Winters, Robin Williams, Brad Garrett, Jim Carey, Roseanne, Julia Louis-Dryfus, Paul Rogriguez, George Lopez, Ellen DeGeneres, Johnny Carson (untouchable!!), Richard Pryor, and Eddie Murphy.Just a few of my political, broadcast news and Civil Rights heroes are... JFK, RFK, Jimmy Carter, MLK Jr., Rosa Parks, Tim Russert, Dan Rather and Tom Snyder.Personal heroes... my Mom, Connie, my Grandmother, Genevieve, my son, Anthony, my ex-neighbor, Maria Elena Chavez, my "other Mom", Mela Perez (R.I.P.), Jerry Perez, (his inner strength to conquer his deepest demons still amazes me!!)
