About Me

portland.
rain.
reading.
learning.
laughing.
loving.
hugging.
cuddling.
wearing what i want.
trying to be a good person.
being around people that make me feel good.
enjoying the taste of beer, wine and coffee.
trying to find a job back home.
missing my friends and family and weather.
owing large sums of money for my education. was it worth it? i don't know. sometimes i think it would be nice to work in coffee again.
hoping that things will change and the planet will get healthier and trying to do my part.
hoping the people of philadelphia will change and stop killing each other and littering all over their city.
hoping oregonians correct the mistake of measure 37 this november.
hoping certain loved ones of mine will figure it out.
trying to figure it all out myself.

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !

I'd like to meet:

my grandmother and my doggie on the other side. anyone who can inspire me, teach me something new or make me laugh. if there's a man out there who is the perfect combination of handy smurf, grumpy the dwarf, and primarily The Tramp... what..a...dog....what...a...dog....and maybe Robert Duvall.

Music:

bob dylan
+ john lennon
+ marc bolan
= my head, my heart and my pulse - a trifecta of immortal genius. t. rex, neko case, elvis, ryan adams, otis, stones, tom waits, the boss, elliott smith, van morrison, supersuckers, the cramps, joy division, 80's new wave, outlaw country - waylon johnny and merle, and jesse dayton always puts a smile on my face. this is the stuff that lives in my blood, but i love it when i discover something new.

Movies:

wonder boys, beautiful girls, lady and the tramp, it's a wonderful life, dead man, magnolia, footloose, sixteen candles, groundhog day, donnie darko, crybaby, hedwig and the angry inch, cabaret, the last waltz, lonesome dove, HUD, miracle, breaking away
new favorite: thumbsucker

Television:

april thru october - baseball. cheers (it's a little known fact that norm peterson's real name is hillary), golden girls, this old house, the weather channel, charlie rose, sunday morning. the only good contemporary tv show is how i met your mother. news flash: a squirrel has eaten my tv so now i only have baseball at the bar, or if i'm lucky, on my computer.

Books:

camus - the fall (and everything else). hemingway - a moveable feast. sartre - the age of reason (this one got me in trouble). garrett hardin - the tragedy of the commons. steinbeck, shepard, mcmurtry, roger angell. currently reading - the rebel by camus and what's the matter with kansas by thomas frank.

Heroes:

my brother. people who are dedicated and good at what they do, including those who bring me another beer before my current beer is empty. those who don't tip are anti-heroes. clayton jones of memphis. my mom who never backs down from a challenge, works her ass off to try to make her life better and still finds time to concern herslf with the things that matter to me even if she doesn't always understand them. dr bryan for telling a litterer that they dropped something.
