About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorI don't like MySpace enough to really care about what I put here, but some people take it seriously so I guess I better put something, even though everything is pretty much already said in other sections on this page.I have an intimidating music collection, which is one thing most people know/should know about me. Intimidating in size and quality.I am also an avid video game player. I've got a Wii, DS, PSP, PS2, and a Mac, although a Mac is a highly dubious inclusion to a list of gaming devices, but I include it for the sake that I have started playing WoW. Yes I shall admit it, I play WoW. The DS is possibly the best game device going around at the moment though, many great and fun games.I'm also studying journalism, so I shouldn't be so verbose, but that is the way I am. Probably too long winded to ever write for a newspaper, that and the fact that I like to write and believe myself to be somewhat creative, and the work environment of a tabloid newspaper would perceivably be quite stifling not just creatively but also mentally. In other words, I don't know what I want to do.

My Interests

Music, guitar, Kingdom of Loathing, video games, movies, TV, the usual suspects.

Benny’s Music Reviews: Ben Folds - Supersunnyspeedgraphic: The LP

I have most of Ben Folds CDs, but I must confess I am not a rabid fan, just a casual fan. The reason I have most of his CDs is because I picked them up in sweet deals, which I never complain about. Al...

Benny’s Music Reviews: Ben Lee - Ripe

Whether or not you like Ben Lee, Ripe was one of the best albums of '07. Best pop album anyway. After only a few listens you know all the words to the songs and find yourself singing along to them, wh...

Benny's Live Music Reviews: Sarah Blasko - Amazing Things Tour

That's right, after no post for more than a month, I am back to break the mould and post a live review. I'm not an avid gig goer, but I couldn't pass up the chance of seeing Sarah Blasko. She is so am...

Benny's Music Reviews: New Buffalo - The Last Beautiful Day

Now this album was a nice little gem that I found in my travels. I first heard New Buffalo unwittingly on Triple J and then tried to find any information about the band, but this was about 4 or 5 year...

Benny's Music Reviews: Radiohead - Kid A

Some people don't like them. They have come a long way from The Bends to Kid A and Amnesiac. The change in sound has alienated people, and I must confess I was put off it for a while. There is a stran...

Benny's Music Reviews: Update

So, these reviews have been getting more and more sporadic, which is kind of ironic since I have been buying more music. Which means I do have a lot of potential reviews to put up, and that is somethi...

Benny's Music Reviews: Modest Mouse - Good News For People Who Love Bad News

From the endearingly optimistic Float On, to the self-reflective The Good Time Are Killing Me, the album "Good News For People Who Love Bad News" by Modest Mouse has quickly become one of my most love...

Benny's Music Reviews: Bloc Party - A Weekend In The City

All the people that are complaining that Silent Alarm is better than A Weekend In The City can apply suction to my genital region, or at least understand that they are differently albums. It's still B...

Benny's Music Reviews: Muse - Absolution

This CD has stayed in my CD player pretty much since I bought it. It's so great to just put on shuffle and hear any song off the album. Absolution was my introduction to Muse, only knowing the song Si...
