In October of 2002 five guys from East Bay California formed a band called HAPPY ENDING that was genuine, energetic, & heavy. And what they got was a brand of melodic/hardcore that flows with soulful vocals mixed with anguish screams. Guitar riffs that make you want to throw chairs across the room, but are filled with ambient, passionate melodies. Drums that beat and pound and fill the air with abandon, urgency, and brutal bass sounds that grate and yet never lose that low end.While playing Los Angeles in the summer of 2004 they discovered a number of bands with the name similar to happy ending. So when they returned home to the bay, during a pre-production set with Producer Adam Rupell (ex-Systematic), Rupell said he’d ran across a interesting name that coincidently reflected the attitude and aura of the band. That name was: "OMISSA", which is a Latin word that means to omit, or disregard, which is what Omissa has been doing for the last 5 years, disregarding all boundaries and labels that have been put in their path to show the world what they are made of. Even after a name change, losing 3 drummers, and 2 guitar players they still rock without abandon.Omissa managed to release an excellent 6 song EP and a full length album titled “Identity Shattered“ which was released on small bay area indie label “Teki-Pyro Records“. Now with permanent line up: Ron Cruz on bass, Rudy Ponce on guitar, Melvin August on the drums, and Kenny Moore on vocals, Omissa is set out to show the world that they are a force to be reckoned with.
