Microove

Michael always had a big affection for music. His mom sang and always drawn much attention towards (playing) music. He played piano, drums, flute and started DJ-ing when he was arround the age of 15. Everytime he visited his next door neighbour, he'd just watched him play loud technobeats. When this neighbour bought himself SL1200's, Michael loaned his old turntables and started buying records to try for himself. His eclectic taste for music caused his recordstack to become very various, from old groove and house to uplifting techno and classics. It was after a year that he decided to play for public as well, so he entered a contest at a new DJ-Café in Hilversum, called; Hotspot. The contest was realised by a young man wich owned a small party organisation called; Blue Eyez. He liked the way Michael turned and asked him to come play more often. He did so and after a while he was spinning his records at small Café's in Hilversum, but also clubs like Gooiland & Baccara.At Gooiland he became resident for most of the Blue Eyez party's and started to give party's out of the Blue Eyez' name aswell. But he was not working with Blue Eyez alone, he worked together with a small organisation called; Show Rental. And also Deep FM, an online radio station that has connections with the Defected label. It's a online radio station mainly concerned on House & Dance music. Together combined they started a DJ-Contest; Evergreen, at the Rendez Vous in Hilversum. It was on every friday afternoon for 8 weeks long. With the sun shining brightly outside, the beats where pumping raw inside. Thirty local DJ's and friends of his, competed for a place at the final which allowed the winner to play at the New Year's party at Gooiland and a beachparty wich was organized by Deep FM. The year after that the contest became national, with competing DJ's from all over the Netherlands.After the contest was over he continued giving the afternoon party's and then he started combining the two of them. Giving pré party's at the Rendez Vous under the motto: 'Who needs a afterparty anyway' After the 'Pré party's', everybody went to; Hilbot, Microove & Vriendjes and other Blue Eyez party's at Gooiland. After that he did a lot of birthday party's, local hockeyparty's and teenageparty's for the fun of it, also in small bars like Coupers (now City Light) and Le Journal. But he didn't stay local and after he played at: Supperclub (Amsterdam). Where he returned this year at a party called; Binnen. But also the opening of Onassis(Amsterdam) and other clubs like Studio 80 , Winkel van Sinkel. Also performed a few times at the small, but well known DJ-Cafe TWSTD. It did not only stay at his home country but also played in café's (Taco Loco)and clubs (Dreamers) in Puerto Banus (Marbella) and in Kreta where he played in the summer of 2006 at Starbeach Village.
