Do you see any discrimination towards women? I have never seen an African American woman working in this Music industry. If I could I would hire them. Only if they earned it. I can’t prove it, but I know there is discrimination towards women. I have had interviews where they just took one look at me and decided no. I was not admitted to my college at first. It took two years to get in. I bet, they get more female applications then men but there is only one female in every class. I only saw one African American female student in my entire school. The guys in the classes have no experience and they wouldn’t let me in. I had to name drop. Women have to try ten times as hard. An African American women probably have to try 100 times as hard. What advice would you give to females? Don’t sleep your way in. Never give up. “Keep believing in yourself when no one else does†STAY POSITIVE! Don’t give in to pier pressure. Stay away from evil people. My morals are more important to me than anything. How did you get started in this business? I started playing instruments when I was 7 and took band in middle school. When I was 17 I started learning sound systems and DJing. I volunteered my way up. I worked on my days off. It took my whole life to make it in.What did you do to get in? Everything, except sleep my way in. I went to college. I read manuals and sound books. I still haven’t gotten in on tour. What did you give up? Everything, I lost my whole self. I slept in my car for two weeks just to work for a touring company. I lost everything I ever had. Left everyone behind. Was it worth it? NO Why? It was not meaningful. If I died tomorrow it would be a waste of a life. A sad life. Except this.If you could do anything what would you do? Help other people. If you died tomorrow what would you do today? Help other peopleIs your life meaningful? It is now. I changed. I saw the light.
