Welcome!

About Me

I started playing guitar when I was 12 years old. Like many young guitar players, I started out playing rock and blues. In my teens I learned an invaluable amount about music and life from Bay Area guitarist Allen J. Brown. From the age of 17 and into my early twenties I swayed from playing rock music and spent the next 3 or 4 years intensely studying classical guitar. I learned a ton from Charles Ferguson through night classes at the College of San Mateo.Throughout my twenties I learned more than I thought possible studying harmony, musicianship, composition and improvisation with the great late San Francisco pianist Charles "Gus" Gustavson. At the same time I was also taking private jazz guitar lessons with guitar wizard Warren Nunes and playing daily with my two best friends in music, fellow guitarists Sebastien Lanson and Brandon Robinson. I've been playing guitar for about 18 years now and have been playing jazz consistently for the past 10 in many compbinations from solo to small combos to big bands. These days I enjoy playing anything that swings from big band to bebop to avant garde to gypsy swing. In all honestly, I just enjoy any good music regardless of genre no matter where it comes from. Music is the ultimate universal language and especially being that I currently live in Shanghai, China, that statement could never be closer to the truth than now! Thanks for visiting my page. I hope you enjoy what you see and hear. Please feel free to visit the pages of my musical friends below as well.
