About Me

The Nocturnal Sound Krew, formed in 1996 is a Dj/Turntablist group primarily based in Hawaii. Dominating Hawaii’s turntablist scene, they have been apart of countless musical events. Performing alongside hip-hop artist such as Pharoah Monch, Jurassic 5, Common, Jeru the Damaja, the Visionaries, the Beat junkies, the X-ecutioners, the Allies, dj Q-bert, Dilated People, J-live, Zion-I as well as becoming mainstays at various nightclubs in the city of Honolulu.
Generally known for their dominance within Hawaii’s dj battle scene, the Nocturnal Sound krew are the current champions of all major dj competitions in Hawaii, including the 2001, 2002, and 2003 DMC (Disco Mixing Championship) Hawaii Regional Championships by dj Solution, and the 2001 ITF (International Turntablist Federation) South Pacific Regional Championships by dj Deception. Winning each of these battles allowed these members of the Nocturnal Sound Krew to represent Hawaii in both of their major USA Finals.
Although performing extremely well in the USA Finals of each of these battles, it was not until the team competed in the ITF Western Hemisphere Team Battle did they realize there true potential as World-Class DJs. By surprising the hip-hop community, the Nocturnal Sound Krew won the Western Hemisphere Team battle, gaining them a bid to battle for the World Championship Team Title. There dominance was felt worldwide, as they were victorious in the world finals, gaining them the prestigious International Turntablists Federation World Team Championship. The following year, they proved once again that they are the best in the world, repeating as champions for the second year in a row and becoming only the second team in history repeating as ITF World Champions. With all the accolades and accomplishments the Nocturnal Sound Krew have accomplished over the years, they feel that there is much more to achieve. Along side of competitions and performances, production as well as break beats and mix tapes are in the works for this diverse group. Their main goal is to travel around the world to spread their love for the turntables and for music.
