I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

so, for anybody who actually follows this page, I actually moved back to LA from Hartford right before January 1st due to a back injury that's still lingering. so I'm still a woman on the move, but for now I'm going through a major course correction. I still hope to move to Manhattan in a few years, but I've got to get some other stuff done first. let you know what that stuff is when I do.p.s. - I am practically NEVER on here! if you want to talk to me, find me on facebook. todah!

My Interests

how much time you got?

I'd like to meet:

people who want to change the world, both disillusioned and lionous.also, Hugh MacLeod (see below)

Music:

You know what? I like too many things to list them at this present juncture. Plus, I'm too busy trying to make my own. SO deal.

Movies:

The Fountain; Wristcutters; American Beauty; Shopgirl; the version of Invisible Monsters floating around my head that Palahniuk just HAS to let me co-screenwrite/direct.

Television:

M*A*S*H; Queer Eye; The Daily Show; The Colbert Report; The Office; any Law & Order; What Not to Wear; I Love Lucy; The Cosby Show.(p.s. - I am an unabashed Project Runway junkie. Santino was utterly ripped off.)

Books:

Invisible Monsters and Choke, both by Chuck Palahniuk; The Satanic Verses, by Salman Rushdie; Paradise Lost, by John Milton; Matilda, by Roald Dahl; The Phantom Tollbooth, by Norton Juster; The Tipping Point and Blink, by Malcolm Gladwell.

Heroes:

Gandhi; Wassily Kandinsky; pop culture icons who use their fame to further social justice; Darren Aronofsky; Dr. Shirley Mullen; Adrien Brody; Mother Theresa; Tim Burton; John Milton; David Mamet; Chuck Palahniuk; any excellent storytellers; Telford Work; Mira Nair; Donne; Mark Rothko; Will Shakespeare; John and Melissa Cochran; Constantin Brancusi; Barry Taylor; Starla Ackley; Yehudah Amichai; Lisa DeBoer; Louise Bourgeois; LMV; people who speak up; my parents; my grandmothers.

floundering

no, I don't mean "foundering." I mean floundering, as in the fish. much flailing and thrashing about for no apparent reason. I am feeling very ill at ease the last few days: fed up with certain relati...

yesterday, I had a rather catastrophic event in class - more my reaction/lack of interaction/what have you than the actual class, since it's still probably the best one I've ever had at this school - ...
