Rasan (Rasan Aycox, 5-21-1980) is one of the West Coast..s rising talents. An extraordinary rapper, and talented producer, who has produced for many local acts. A San Diego native, Rasan grew up in the notorious Southside of San Diego. Rasan was born in a musical family. His father is a singer and guitarist. His mother is a singer. And his sister Ayshia is also pursuing a singing career. Instead of being lured to the streets, Rasan turned to music, as he watched his friends become victims of the environment. Rasan started rapping at age of 12, on a recommendation from a friend. By the age of 14, Rasan began composing his own music. In 1994, Rasan moved from San Ysidro to Chula Vista, and has resided there ever since. In his freshman year of high school, Rasan befriended fellow rapper Luther (LRS ONE) Smith. The two became a good friends and formed a rap duo together. However, Luther changed schools, and they stayed in contact when possible. Years later in 2001, Luther Smith committed suicide due to depression. He was 21. This was a devastating blow, but also was motivation to focus on his music career. Rasan clicked up with local producer Joe Collins. While in the studio in 2002, with friend Joe, San Diego rapper Bossman Hogg named the 2, The Jetsons, for there futuristic sounds. In 2005, Joe decided to step away from music due to personal reasons. Rasan has also formed the super group, EMF, Extended Music Family. Consisting of: Rasan, Bounce, R.A.W. Deal, Barz, Mouse, and A-Dogg. As a group they have released 2 mixtapes. In the spring of 2006, Rasan released his album West Coast Hip Hop. The album, which has received positive reviews, is filled with party anthems, club bangers, and thought-provoking tracks. Rasan..s production resume includes: Bossman Hogg, Big June, Lil CS and the Mob Kingz, Young Sau, Sidewayz Ent, Young Droop, Sicc One, Gangsta Gold Macnificent, and many more.
