I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a silly human being. Seriously.

My Interests

Things that don't suck and that add to life rather than detract from it.

I'd like to meet:

Simon Peter, Grace Kelly, Albert Einstein, Edward DeVere, Moses, Joseph Henry, Soren Kierkegaard, Alexander Graham Bell, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Steve Martin, William Blake. That would be a great dinner party, mainly because I bet they all have impeccable manners... well, maybe not Blake, which is why he'd be at the "kids'" table.

Music:

Anything that catches my ear, really, and seems artistically true. This means probably not your band.

Movies:

Mostly older movies: Hitchcock, '70's auteur, etc.

Television:

God bless TiVo:The Office (U.S.), The Sarah Silverman Show, Meerkat Manor, Frontline, Nova, The Daily Show/The Colbert Report, 60 Minutes, Science Channel things, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and I even still enjoy the Simpsons.Because I choose to think for myself and not be another one of the lemmings, I hate Fox News and all it represents.

Books:

My very favorites are Cormac McCarthy and Graham Greene, but I also like "Scotty" Fitzgerald, Edward deVere the 17th Duke of Oxford who had a pretty famous penname, some Faulkner, some Garcia Marquez, Melville, David Sedaris, Steve Martin, that one book by Harper Lee, and various classics.

Heroes:

my parents, my grandparents, Captain Josh Byers

My Blog

My springtime (updated)

The bear awoke one morning to the sound of a bird singing. It woke him because it had been a long time since he had heard a songbird anywhere near his cave. He stuck his head out, saw its loveliness, ...
