(this was a blog my friend J.J. posted in regards to leaving now on his 3rd deployment)

My third deployment is coming up.... Shoot I must ask myself why I do this? Damn I dont want to leave my house, I dont want to leave my truck, my freedom, my family, my friends. I just dont want to leave for seven months. America doesnt appreciate the sacrafice people in the Armed Forces make. They almost go so far as to dislike us more then the people of Islam who wish death to anyone who doesnt worship Ala. Not everyone but there are people out there who really do hate the military. Its not like the money is good, I make on a 12 hour day seven days a week, about $8.00 an hour. I am absolutly postive I could get a job making that kind of money out in the civilian world, and be able to come home to a house and real bed. Ok so why do it? Well the only reason I can honestly think of is that I believe this is a critical time in history, and if I could not be a part of it I would be missing out on being able to be a part of a movement that will set the course for generations to come. So whats the morale of this story? Well there is about 150,000 Airmen, Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers in Iraq right now, and as Americans who are fortunate enough to never have to experience the sacrafice they endure, you should think twice before you go bumpin your gums about a war that is sworn to be in our best intrest to keep our country strong, powerful, and out of economic stress. This fight that we have on our shoulders is a must, think about the day you saw the twin towers topple to the ground. That was an attack on YOU the people of the USA. So unless you have a better plan to stop the spread of Islam from trying to blow your ass up just because you are a westerner who in their eyes is the reason for the Jihad, because of your materialistic sinner lifestyle that you love sooo much. Take a minute to stop being scared and take a stand for what you need to do. That is SUPPORT your military so that they can stop the Jihad that could come to your doorstep, one day in the form of a suicide bomb. I HATE WAR. I really do. I dont know why we cant all get along. I know that this world needs peace. But right now, we need to stop which is truly radical islamists from defeating us and stealing our freedom.

(This is what had to say after reading that)

Well I for one, am appreciative of those who truly wish to serve this country. Although, I do have to ask you, "Do you really think that we are making a difference by being there in the long run? How can we expect to be safe for all of time? O.K. maybe we stop some "terrorist radicals", but what about the crazy people who are citizens who just go around blasting people for no reason at all? Are they less dangerous to us? If they are worse, do we stay in Iraq for the entire course of future as we know it? What do you think would happen if we withdrew from the war in the next few years? Will the region be better for us having been there?" i.e. VIETAM.
I am not trying to minimize what you are doing. Please, don't take this the wrong way. I love you J.J. and I wouldn't ever want to see anything happen to you, my friend. I am only trying to raise some fundamental questions to help to eliminate the hype, and find out further, what your views are. With whether-or-not 9/11 was an "inside job", or "this war is all about oil", or whether or not Sadam Hussein had "weapons of mass destruction", or whether or not we can "spread" Democracy, I fail to understand what in the hell we are actually doing there? I believe that it's hard on you guys. I can tell you I'm not trying to say, that it is. I just wanted to ask what you thought this will all be when it's "all said and done". Because when you look at it like that, you'll see a bigger picture.
Of course by reading this you can assume that I disagree with this war. However it is being sold, I fail to see the point. Sure what is happening there is chaotic, but just remember what is happening today in Africa, North Korea, and even here in the United States? I think America is experiencing a crisis all it's own. But that is another point all together, and I won't go there right now.
What makes Iraq so significant? How have we helped do anything in the time we were there? Do we just go around the world now, and knock countries off to which ever Administration is currently in power at the time? If so, and this is the "New American Policy", Who is next??
Other countries change leadership as often as we do, but no other Country in the world "Engages or SHIFT GEARS" like we do. Something tells me that when you go around playing "big brother" one too many times, you soon might find yourself at a face off with another "superpower", who might not be as easilly manipulated as Iraq, and most of the Middle East has been. For example, China? Russia? Even North Korea would be a threat to our "Comfort" here at bay, "Safe" whithin our own borders. The truth is you are more likely to be thrown into prison in this country than any other in the world, where 1 in 100 U.S. Adults are behind bars as Quoted from a New York times article (www.nytimes.com/2008/02/28/us/28cnd-prison.html) Schools here could use the money we spend overseas.. How about the homeless?.. What about the Airline Industry? (most people don't realize how 9/11 impacted those jobs, and that the government didn't get involved i.e. funds) Alot of people lost their pensions after 20+ years of service. Is there any reason why we shouldn't be able to use that money to develop alternative method for energy? What about poverty in general? Why aren't we "WAGING WAR" on poverty? And the list goes on, and on... But I'm not here to yammer.
I only wanted to make a point, J.J., -that just because going to war with "Terror" may seem like a decent, humane, and dignified thing to do-we can't lose sight of the bigger picture, which to me, is "how much is this all going to benfit us?" -And in direct proportion, "Where then does/or should that fall into our priorities as a Nation. As Americans. As the "Greatest and Most Powerfull Country in the World"? As "The Leaders of the Free World"? I support our Troops, but I think that our Country could do a better job at managing the directions in which we deploy our great soldiers and countrymen.
And now if you'll forgive me, I've said my piece. Peace.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, was created to help in the event of natural disasters. Their stated mission is “to reduce the loss of life and property and protect the Nation from all hazards, including natural disasters, acts of terrorism, and other man-made disasters, by leading and supporting the Nation in a risk-based, comprehensive emergency management system of preparedness, protection, response, recovery, and mitigation”.

FEMA was created on April 1, 1979 pursuant to President Jimmy Carter’s Executive Order 12127. It amalgamated the Federal Insurance Administration, the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration, the National Weather Service Community Preparedness Program, the Federal Preparedness Agency and the Federal Disaster Assistance Administration activities formerly carried out by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. It also took over Civil Defense from the Department of Defense, which was in charge of preparing citizens for military attack.

Wow! That sounds great! All those words! However, if you look into the organization a little further, you’ll see that it’s not as innocent as it seems.

Here’s some background information about FEMA. In April of 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed Presidential Director Number 54, which allowed FEMA to initiate a national “readiness exercise”, called REX-84. REX-84 is a plan by the United States federal government to detain large numbers of American citizens in case of massive civil unrest or national emergency. In other words, Americans can be thrown into “internment camps” at any time, similar to what happened to the Jews in Nazi Germany.

The Miami Herald, in 1987, claimed that “The camps are to be operated by FEMA should martial law need to be implemented in the United States”. Martial Law is a state of emergency when the Federal Government has control of everything and the Constitution can be suspended. It’s scary that all that power belongs to one person, the President.

If REX-84 is initiated, Operation Cable Splicer and Operation Garden Plot will be implemented as well.

Operation Cable Splicer is a program for an orderly takeover of the state and local governments by the federal government. It was said to have been created in case of mass exodus of illegal aliens across the U.S./Mexican border. Mexicans would be detained in FEMA detention camps and held temporarily until they could be shipped back to Mexico. However, our country’s border policy under George W. Bush has been, for the most part, nonexistent.

Below are some very important and downright scary Executive Orders to be used “in case of a national emergency”. Executive Orders are defined as decrees that are issued by the President of the United States and which carry the force of law when activated by a president. What makes this so dangerous is that the decision to declare martial law and take full control of the United States can be made by one person, at any time, for any length of time. This is not a conspiracy theory; this is law.

10995 - Federal seizure of all communications media in the United States.
10997 - Federal seizure of all electric power, fuels, minerals, public and private.
10998 - Federal seizure of all food supplies and resources, public and private and all farms and equipment.
10999 - Federal seizure of all means of transportation, including cars, trucks, or vehicles of any kind and total control over all highways, seaports and water ways.
11000 - Federal seizure of American people for work forces under federal supervision, including the splitting up of families if the government so desires.
11001 - Federal seizure of all health, education and welfare facilities, both public and private.
11002 - Empowers the Postmaster General to register all men, women and children in the United States of America.
11003 - Federal seizure of all airports and aircraft.
11004 - Federal seizure of all housing and finances and authority to establish Forced Relocation. Authority to designate areas to be abandoned as "unsafe," establish new locations for the populations, relocate communities, build new housing with public funds.
11005 - Seizure of all railroads, inland waterways and storage facilities, both public and private.
11051 - Provides FEMA complete authorization to put above orders into effect in times of increased international tension of economic or financial crisis (FEMA will be in control in case of "National Emergency").

Operation Garden Plot is another part of REX-84 created to control the population. It is defined as “a general U.S. Army and National Guard plan to respond to major domestic civil disturbances within the United States”. Remember that it is the exclusive right of the President of the United States to define what he considers “a major domestic civil disturbance”.

U.S. has been Preparing to turn America into a Military Dictatorship

In 2003, FEMA became part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Emergency Preparedness and Response Directorate. Halliburton was given the contract to build the “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facilities”. Once again, the petroleum and energy giant, Halliburton, the company from which Vice President Dick Cheney retired with a severance package worth $34 million, was given exclusive rights to build the FEMA camps.

Below is a very popular video showing what is believed to be a FEMA Camp in Indiana. I have been contacted by a myspace user on my friends list who has told me that it is a half-mile from his house, and that it is a railroad car refurbish factory. I cannot confirm or deny.

FEMA Camp Reported in Beech Grove, Indiana

It may seem as if the situation could not get worse, but on May 9, 2007, President Bush created and signed the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive. This directive establishes “a comprehensive national policy on the continuity of Federal Government structures and operations and a single National Continuity Coordinator responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of Federal continuity policies”.

Wow! Even more words. Simply, this policy gives him power to suspend elections and dismiss congress for any reason at any time. If there’s a catastrophic event, he can declare a national emergency and implement martial law.
