About Me

Buy Autumn's debut album Drunk, Again here:I am a singer/songwriter in the vein of Joni Mitchell. Ideally, that is not how I would describe myself (though I just did), but is how others tirelessly and without exception describe me. I would much rather be likened to Tom Waits, but like Popeye, I'yam what I'yam, so if you don't dig it, you can kiss my spinach-loving fist. ..* .. S Q U O N K O P E R A : I am also a graduate of Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts with a BFA in Musical Theater. And as of November 2007, I am very lucky to be the singer in the crazy-fun avant garde theater troupe Squonk Opera. They are a top friend below and you should check them out here on myspace or at their website: http://www.squonkopera.org. They've performed all over the world, including a strange and adventure-filled stint on Broadway which is explored and explained in the documentary film, Squonkumentary. I am beside myself with glee to be among them. I've included our performance dates in my Upcoming Shows. Our new show, ASTRO-RAMA premiered in Schenley Plaza this past Fall as part of Pittsburgh's 250 year anniversary and Light Up Night. ..* .. As for my own music, I am spit-shining a new EP that my generous and talented friends have helped me put together. Midge Crickett plays cello, Ryan McMasters plays double bass, Chris Massa bangs the drums and John Michael Robinson backs me up with some lovely lead guitar. It was recorded and engineered by Dave Hidek at Treelady Studios in Turtle Creek. Look for a release party date this Spring.CURRENT MOON lunar phase

13 hours to the far East

On my day and a half trip to Korea I've decided I love flying. And time zones are a trip. We left Detroit on Tuesday at 2pm and arrived in Tokyo at 4pm thirteen hours later. We'll leave Busan at 7pm o...

There is wisdom in this world. Some of it conventional, and some not so. Much of it touts very obvious things like "Being here now" and "Loving things as they are" as the all-too-simple secrets to fin...

this used to be my much shorter, pre-Squonk bio

It seems to me that one major source of hatred for any group standing outside the narrow "norm" these days is jealousy of the tremendous BRAVERY it takes to be who you are regardless of what others wo...

To blog or not to blog....

I have been torn about it. And terrified of it. Will I become obsessed with blogging? Will I never do anything else? Or, much more likely, will I never submit new blogs and feel like a failure? Am I a...
