Hi - my name is Callum Macdonald and I'm based in Glasgow in sunny old Scotland (though originally I'm from Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis...waaayy up North!!).After years of messing around in rehearsal and recording studios (still not sure whether Pro-Tools was the best or worst thing that ever happened to me!) I've finally found myself right back where I started - i.e. with an acoustic gtr and a clutch of half-written / conceived songs.So...I've decided to finally get together something I've been meaning to do for years, which is basically a two-piece with acoustic guitar / vox and drums, which I'm going to call TWIN CITIES'....(all night thinking that one up eh!!).At the moment I'm in the studio demoing some tracks with the idea being to get together material for an album toward the end of the year.Anyway...I was thinking (never wise!) that as the TWIN CITIES sound is going to be...well pretty basic really....that it might be interesting / fun / confusing etc to invite other Myspacer's to add / contribute.Basically the demo's will be available for download:Anyone / anywhere / anytime then can add or use the tracks anyway they want - i.e. add drums / percussion / gtr / bass / drums / keys / vocals / produce / cut / splice / sample etc....anything really....with a view to maybe trying to releaese some of these or include them on the album.....a MYSPACE MYBAND kind of thing.
I'm not suggesting that the tracks are particularily good...they is what they is....but there's obviously a lot of great people / musicians / producers out there and I just thought it might be an interesting way to use Myspace and maybe while away a few hours.BestCallum.
