Music!! Life. Love. Sky-diving. Running really fast. Swinging. Babies. Puppies. Mix CDs. Seeing EVERYTHING in a whole new light!! :)
First few that come to mind...dead & alive... Freddie Mercury, Steven Tyler, the people who lived in my apartment before me (I think they were musicians and I think they may have overdosed and now haunt the place changing my radio station from time to time), James Frey (although, I've heard he's a real ass), Pat Conroy, Jonathan Larson. If you're looking for less superficial answers ~ my apologies. :)
Oh my. Listing any would be injustice to the many. I do not discriminate in this category and a top 5 is really impossible. Plus the more I put here, the more the search Gods of Myspace will tag me and fill my world with "If you like......, you'll LOVE our band!!!" ~ Which is not always bad, but my market is flooded. Give me live music! :)
Almost Famous, Empire Records, High Fidelity, Moulin Rouge, Fight Club, American Beauty, Big Fish, The Boondock Saints, The Princess Bride, Neverending Story, What About Bob, Closer, Garden State, Finding Neverland, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Crash...I'm leaving a bunch out, but you get the idea...Oh, they should really have a slot for Plays/Musicals b/c Rent is the absolute best production of any kind ever...that really goes ahead of all of the above-mentioned movies. The movie was a great great screen translation if you were already a fan of the show, unfortunately it didn't quite cut it for many of the Rent-Virgins. Also: If you ever get the chance to go to any of the Cirque du Soleil shows, do it!!!! Amazing, amazing production.
Thanks to Comcast's $10 DVR rental, I now watch my favorite shows whenever I want ~ It is usually 75% full with the following: Grey's Anatomy!!, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Jeopardy, House, Medium, Law & Order SVU, Project Runway, Real World/Road Rules (I am the MTV generation, you know you watch them too!!), Sex & the City, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (I think it may have been canceled which is a shame, cuz it was an intelligent show!), Saved by the Bell, Full House, Scrubs, Legends of the Hidden Temple!!! Oh, and last but not least ~ American Idol (I make no apologies, once it's down to the actual talent and they aren't making a production out of people who can't sing ~ it's a great show, a phenomenon of partially contrived art, I know, but an entertaining one. And Kelly Clarkson can sing her ass off!!!!!!
Million Little Pieces by James Frey (if you or anyone you know has ever been addicted to anything....you must read this book, I know that sounds crazy, but it is hands down the best book I've ever read, it will make you cry, smile, throw up, even bleed if you let it, it's intense and beautiful and essential reading for anyone who has ever experienced or wondered about an addict's afflicted brain). Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy...all time favorite.... I like to read and therefore end up liking everything I read, b/c if it doesn't catch me in the first chapter, I don't read it....so everything I read to the end, I like, as crazy as that may sound....
Freddie Mercury, Lennon and McCartney, Butch Walker, all the guys from Jump....basically refer back to my music section and well, they are my heroes...for obvious reasons
