About Me

New! Claymore Minds debut EP "This Way Towards Enemy" available now at Bull Moose and Strange Maine. Get it!
"Refreshingly schizophrenic" - Good Times
Claymore Minds was a six piece progressive metal ensemble, Founded as "Casual Nightmare" in 2003 by Joe Black (guitar), Joe Gouzie (former drummer), and Marshall Lewis (former bassist). Chris Milligan joined as a second guitarist early on.
Marshall left the group and casual nightmare took a hiatus untill 2004 when they filled out the lineup with Jacob Leger (AKA Hectic J of Lab 7 on lead vocal), Justin Dyer (bass guitar), and Adam Whitehead (keys). Re-focused and comprised of a myriad of obscure influences they became Claymore Minds.
In june of 2005 artistic differences led to the departure of Joe Gouzie (now focusing on Subject Bias). Kyle Winchester was the first and last to audition. Kyle Learned the songs quick, and debuted with Claymore at the Alehouse on Halloween with Confusatron and zombie dancers. It was packed to capacity.
In october of 2006 Claymore Minds went into the studio with Mark Bartholomew engineering and in two days, "This Way Towards Enemy" was accomplished. Buy it or suffer a horrible death... and boils.
Claymore Minds disbanded in march of 2007. All good things must come to an end. Heartfelt thanks to all of you who have supported us over these three years of good times, great party's, killer shows, flexing and brutiful metal.
Claymore Minds had the privilege to share the stage with Scissorfight, Anal Cunt, Covered In Bees, Captain Cutthroat, Confusatron, Vertigod, Cryptic Overcast, Dead is the Sky, Not Dead But Sleeping, Taming the Shrew, View from the Noose, Sinferno, Porphyria, Ruin, Death Among Theives, Boombazi, Sinferno, Kurixis, Big Coffin Hunters, Balls Deep, The End of Everything, Pigboat, Audioblack, Eldemur Krim, Nobis, Escape 2 Everything, Brutal Intentions, Churn, Terrasyte, Forth Corner, Blue Collar Project, Battlefeild, No Room For The Living, Jodi Explodi, and lots of other local bands that rocked.
Joe Black passed away on September 6th 2007. He will be missed. Let these recordings speak for his genius.
