Roleplaying games, especially Everquest. I enjoy reading and messing around learning new things on the computer.
I'd like to meet:
Anyone who has an offbeat sense of humor. I love to laugh and joke. Who wants to be serious all the time? I think playing keeps us young no matter what the calendar says.
I'd also like to meet people who can be trusted. People who are secure in themselves and don't have to destroy other people to get a sense of worth.
What is friendship?:
Real friendship or love is not manufactured or achieved by an act of will or intention. Friendship is always an act of recognition.
...in the moment of friendship, two souls suddenly recognize each other. It could be a meeting on the street, or at a party or a lecture, or just a simple, banal introduction, then suddenly there is the flash of recognition and the embers of kinship grow. There is an awakening between you, a sense of ancient knowing.
Your beloved and your friends were once strangers. Somehow at a particular time, they came from the distance toward your life. Their arrival seemed so accidental and contingent. Now your life is unimaginable without them.

Music:
Eclectic mix. I love heavy metal, it's my prefered sound. I don't care for opera but I love the voice of Luciano Pavarotti. Oldies, some old country, some new country, very little "pop" music, practically no rap. I can listen to Beethoven for hours.
Movies:
My all time favorite movie is The Jerk. If you don't know the movie, you should go rent it. Its one of the most quotable movies ever. I love action movies. Spaceballs and Kung Pow make me laugh. Greencard, and Steel Magnolias can make me go through a box of tissues each.
Television:
I don't really watch much TV and when I do its either HGTV or sci-fi. I've been watching the "new" Battlestar Galactica and loved it.
Books:
The book I have read the most is the Bible. The second book I have read the most is The Stand. I don't read Stephen King anymore, his writing style changed and I don't care for it.
I read the whole Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series and have learned alot of life's lessons from it. I never travel without a towel now.I guess my favorite genre is mysteries. I love reading Robin Cook's books and Dean Koontz.
Heroes:
My kids. They have been through alot and are both great people.
Kelly:My reason for continuing. She is talented beyond any of my hopes. She has been the best child anyone could ever ask for. In spite of all the changes in her life, she still manages to laugh with me. I love her more than anything in the world.
Mark:
My son has been through a confusing childhood filled with drug abuse and A.D.D., the loss of his father, and being a father himself. There were times I really thought I would lose him. He is an amazingly intelligent person and I love him dearly.
Dan:This man has the patience of a saint. He loved me through my crying over the loss of friendship of another man. He saw me through my first experience with hate. He guided me and supported me through weeks of confusion and hurt. He stepped up when I needed him most and he has my undying love and gratitude for it.
Michael: He taught me how to trust. He also taught me betrayal. He brought me years of joy and friendship. I will never forget him as long as I live.
My brother Tom: No one could be more like me or more different than me. His sense of humor is terrific. He is also amazingly intelligent. He is sensitive and tender in spite of his tough guy exterior. He is my true example of an oxymoron. (he probably has a joke to go with that too) He and I have been through real hell together. I love him very much.
My family: A bunch of nuts who laugh and joke and cry and support and love.
My online friends: A support system that rivals no other. Some I have met in person, some I will meet eventually, some I never will. They all hold a piece of my heart.
