About Me

Myspace layouts from Pyzam.com
I'm a pretty goofy guy, and I try to look at life in an upbeat way. I've learned the hard way to always appreciate every single day, and I want to make the most of each one. So that being said, I love to try and make people laugh, even if it means some corny jokes now and again; making people smile and laugh can be very intoxicating. As for my interests, I'm into a lot of things, and more than I could begin to mention here. Some of my interests include cartoons, comedies, my family, collecting weird stuff like Pez dispensers & celebrity autographs & bobbleheads, animation, Family Guy, stand-up comedy, Kevin Smith movies, quoting movie dialog, Marshmallow Peeps, wandering around Target, or better yet Ikea so I can pronounce all the names in my Swedish accent, cooking (I'm told I make a pretty mean Chicken Parm), art, photography, movies, the Genie in Aladdin, Buzz Lightyear, 80s cartoons and movies and music and stuff, downloading music, making mix CDs, being color blind (yup, color blind artist... reeeeal convenient), cartooning, caricatures, the Muppets, reading The Onion, collecting DVDs, Mr. Potato Head, taking road trips, traveling... I got to see the world while I was in the Navy... Australia (Sydney, Adelaide, Bunbury, Brisbane, Darwin, Geelong), Mexico (Acapulco, Puerta Vallarta, Cabo), Thailand, Singapore, Hawaii, San Diego, Bahrain, Qatar, Guam, Pago Pago. Going all over the world definitely gave me a bite from the Travel Bug. Would love to go to Las Vegas one day, or just drive Route 66 (Especially after seeing Cars) and see America.I'm usually quiet around people I don't know, but after a few minutes, it can be pretty hard to shut me up once I'm comfortable.
Create your own Friend Quiz hereI have a great family that I am always thankful for, and I am very proud of the life of my brother, Sgt Sean H. Miles, USMC, KIA 01/24/06. I want to try to live my life and be the type of person he thought I could be. Sean and Gen entrusted me to be Tyler's Godfather, which makes me beam with pride.Sunday, March 18th, 2007 is a day that I will never forget, a day that couldn't have gone better in my wildest dreams, a day where, in fact, my wildest dream came true... I proposed to the woman I love, and she said yes! So go check out my page, and read all about the most incredible woman in the world... and she loves me! :) WOO HOO!

Myspace Countdown or Myspace LayoutsWell, I know I am trying to keep it very subtle on my page here, but guess what I did on Sunday, March 18th, 2007? Go on, guess! :) I asked the most beautiful, funny, smart, sensitive, caring, sexy, intelligent, wonderful woman in the world to do me the honor of becoming my wife... and she said yes! I have yet to wipe the smile off of my face, and I want to just shout from the top of the highest building that I am officially the happiest man in the entire world! I waited my entire life to meet Michelle, and she was so worth the wait. I know when I look at her that we were meant to be together, and I feel so lucky and blessed to know that we will be starting our lives together. Thank you, Shell, for everything you do for me. I love you so much, and am so grateful that you give me the strength, confidence and support to be the man I am today. You mean everything to me.

Music:

Let me start by saying I am now officially the biggest Rascal Flatts fan... my family always loved their music, and some songs always make me think of Sean, but I also got to see them in concert with Michelle for my birthday last year, and I now have a ton of amazing memories that go along with that concert; it was awesome seeing them with her, and was a time I will never forget. We'll be seeing them again this year in September as well! Now... other than R.F., I can listen to anything; I have very odd musical tastes. I have a soft spot for Movie Soundtracks, but my likes range from alternative to rock to RnB to oldies to country to anything really. Look at my CD books if you don't believe me. I've got a lot of stand-up comedy CDs, from people like Dane Cook, Ron White, George Carlin, Jim Gaffigan, Greg Behrendt, and Todd Barry. I love They Might Be Giants, Michael Buble, Me First and the Gimme Gimmies, Billy Joel, the Wallflowers, Rascall Flatts, The Goo Goo Dolls, the Gorillaz, the Offspring, The Fray, Maroon 5, Mika, Fighting Gravity, Sister Hazel, Weird Al Yankovic (New CD in September!), any One Hit Wonder, Frank Sinatra, any Jock Jams CD, and any parody from Family Guy. Recently getting back in touch with some obscure 80s stuff, things like Pet Shop Boys, Huey Lewis & the News, Nu Shooz, Sheena Easton, Sheila E, (those are 3 different performers you know), Foreigner, Toto... ah, memories. I am a professional mix CD maker, and am working on some new ones as we speak. :) I won't be putting a lot of Motley Crue on them though... saw them with Aerosmith, and while I did know a couple of their songs... um... the rest were pretty craptastic. The Beavis & Butthead guys in the crowd seemed to like them though.

Movies:

Man. I sucked at seeing movies this summer... Missed Shrek, Spiderman, Pirates, Ratatooie, Superbad, Simpsons... *sigh* I have a lot to see on DVD. As for other movies recently, Meet the Robinsons was great! Get Michelle to imitate the dinosaur scene if you can... priceless! Pirates of the Caribbean 2 will forever be remembered as "The Movie Where I Tried Buttered Popcorn For the First Time", which, trust me, is a monumental event. Thanks Shell. I love a good movie (and all of you who know me well can say "DUH!" here), usually anything but horror. My faves include The Odd Couple, Clue, Ghostbusters, Return to Me, Transformers (both versions), When Harry Met Sally, The Producers, Raising Arizona, 40 Year Old Virgin, Labyrinth, The Great Muppet Caper, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, People Will Talk, Super Troopers, Tommy Boy, Airplane!, Old School, Dodgeball, Back to the Future, Best in Show, Under the Rainbow, Monster Squad, the Goonies, Secondhand Lions, Little Shop of Horrors, Elf, Coming to America, Team America, Moonstruck, Monsters Inc, Dogma, Toy Story 2, Clerks, Clerks 2, Driving Miss Daisy, Over the Hedge, Dark Crystal, Kids in the Hall - Brain Candy, Chasing Amy, Ice Pirates, Mallrats, Star Wars, Independence Day, Grosse Point Blank, A Few Good Men, Three Amigos, Grumpy Old Men, Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Groundhog Day, The Ladykillers, Lilo & Stitch, MST3k, Aladdin, The Emperor's New Groove, Duck Soup or any Marx Brothers movie for that matter, The Incredibles, Serenity, Seems Like Old Times, Grumpy Old Men, Vacation, The Lion King... oh, and the one where Gary Coleman lives in a train station. I remember that being on HBO all the time when I was a kid. So needless to say, I like movies, and movie quotes. I can also recite any line of dialogue from Ghostbusters, and I dare you not to be impressed. :) I also have a knack for remembering what year a movie came out in, as well as making personal connections to movies I've seen (like my brother calling 'The Fox and the Hound' 'Box and the Hound', or listening to my Dad crack up during 'Mousehunt').

Television:

Scrubs, Scrubs, Scrubs, and more Scrubs! Family Guy, MST3k, Seinfeld, that Autopsy show on HBO, Reno 911!, The Office, Forensic Files, Kids in the Hall, Golden Girls, Robot Chicken, Newsradio, Comedy Central Presents, Bosom Buddies, American Dad, Penn and Teller BS, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Animaniacs, The Muppet Show, The Daily Show, South Park... I definitely enjoy comedies and animation, with an occasional drama to balance it out. Not a big reality TV guy.

Books:

One day I hope to be a children's book author who will be listed in this spot on someone else's page. I have a few decent ideas, and thanks to some support and input from Shell, I think it's going to happen someday, hopefully soon. I just finished Michael Crichton's "State of Fear"... it was pretty good, and weird to read a book where one of the big villains is a lightning bolt. Other than that, I love The Onion Compilations, Good Omens, The Big Book of... Series, Foxtrot, I am 8-Bit (a very cool "art" book with artwork based on old Nintendo games), my books about Al Hirschfeld (a great caricaturist... he was the inspiration for Aladdin's Genie), Pearls Before Swine (a really funny comic strip), Rough Draft (from the Modern Humorist), anything by Roald Dahl or Michael Crichton or George Carlin or Dennis Miller, The DaVinci Code (movie wasn't as good as the book), anything funny or sarcastic or humorous (sense the theme yet?). Angles & Demons was great, too, though it did have a couple of major leaps in plausability.I also like books about Ancient Egyptian culture, Urban Legends (like the one about waking in up in ice minus a kidney), art, and those Charlie Brown Encyclopedias they used to sell in the supermarket when I was a kid.

Heroes:

My brother, an amazing Marine who was killed in Iraq while saving the life of a fellow Marine; he was killed a week before he was supposed to come home. Sean's goal was to ensure the rest of his men came home alive, and they all did. He was the definition of the Marine Corps, and I want to do everything I can to make his sacrifice worthwhile. Semper Fidelis, Sean. I am also proud of my whole family, (my mom and dad, sister Erin, sister-in-law Gen, brother-in-law Nick, nephew/Godson Tyler, my grandparents, Aunt Sue and Sam, Uncle John and Aunt Karen), which has been such a source of strength for me for my entire life, and who have held together amazingly during the past months. I know Sean is proud of us. Here's a photo of a painting done of Sean and given to his wife Gen.
ImgFree.net hosting image site I'm also proud and thankful for friends like Jake and Laurel; they have been good friends, even when I didn't really deserve it. I am glad to know them, and their awesome children (still have to meet Owen, technically).I'm also so proud of Michelle. She's managed to go to school away from her family, work on a double Masters degree, have major heart surgery, and deal with the drivers in Northern Virginia, all with a bright smile, a cheerful heart, and nothing but love for those around her. She amazes me every day.
