Demenxia was formed in the spring of 2003
Roger Aikens (Drummer) and Brian Mygrant (Singer) acquired a studio from a band that Roger had played with for a few months; both of them shared a dedication and commitment for their music and vowed to keep it going regardless any struggle they might find. From day 1 it was a revolving door of musicians and excuses. Roger's girlfriend (Kathy Beane) answered and ad in a musician's site for a drummer to play with a partially formed band.
They were playing out in a house nearby, and when Roger read their influences he was excited and set up a meeting. The first Meeting was at Boris Gomez (Bassist) and Juan Gomez (Former guitarist) house. Paul Bullock (Guitarist) and a departed singer were there too. Roger sat down and watched them play in amazement. It only took them one practice to acknowledge that everything had just fell together, all their influences collided and DEMENXIA was formed.
They trimmed a little fat after a few practices and put their noses to the ground, and started working on their sound. They worked 4-5 days a week practicing; finally, they found what they were looking for, the kind of musicians that shared a goal and a drive to put out the hardest shit possible and maintain the highest quality of music they could.
Their influences include ranges of music like Death, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Meshuggah, Dying Fetus, Slayer,Suffocation to name a few. Shows were and are tough. They decided to work with another drummer to try to create something new, not many bands have tried playing with two drummers, but it did not work out.
They worked tiredly on balancing practice and the few gigs they were playing, they were happy with the overwhelming response. They found themselves gaining momentum as time passed, adding song after song to their roster, playing at least 6 gigs a month, spreading their musical carnage to any mother fucker who would listen. All that hard work, time and dedication has paid off. DEMENXIA is ready to take on whatever the future puts in its way with music that is driven and determined to be metal in its rawest form, gritty and to the point!
