:WATER SERIES ARTIST STATEMENT:
My newest collection of work is a direct concentration of water and the human form. Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated with water- the mystery, the reflection, the movement. As an artist, I do a lot of soul searching and self discovery to make each painting alive and personal. I study how the light dances across the ripples of water and how it then shimmers against the human body. When submerged in water, there is a sense of renewal and a moment of clarity that takes over. I am intrigued how we are weightless and full of grace when we are completely inhabited by water. The rhythm of water is constantly flowing, I’m hoping to capture that one moment of freedom and purity that is not normally seen. The power of water will continue to motivate and inspire me for many years to come.This is my vision, my goal that I hope to achieve with these paintings.
