Raised in Walterboro, SC, Joy Hardy's love for music became apparent at an early age. Her musical passion grew as she began formal vocal training in high school shortly before she graduated. At the College of Charleston, she participated in choral groups, being featured occasionally as a soloist.
After taking a hiatus from public performance, Joy resumed her musical endeavors at Peace Church, when she joined the Peace Church Choir as a choir member and soloist for their annual Christmas Cantata in 1999. She continues to sing in the Peace Church choir on a regular basis, frequently singing solos and duets for various pieces and programs.
In 2005, Joy Hardy was asked to sing in the newly formed Peace Praise Team. After accepting the request, Joy again became a regularly featured soloist of yet another ensemble.
Shortly after the formation of the Peace Praise Team, Joy met Noel DeLisle, who was hired as a musician by Peace Church. Quickly becoming friends, Noel recognized early on the potential that Joy had as a musician.
In 2007, Joy wrote lyrics to what would become her first song. After showing the lyrics and melody to Noel, the two musicians collaboration produced the song now known as My Faith. In the weeks that followed, Noel introduced a number of songs he had written that he felt would complement Joy's beautiful voice and dynamic range.
12 songs later, Joy looks forward to her debut album release, which is slated for Summer 2008 on Apparatus Records. She will be performing several concerts in Spring 2008 to promote her upcoming record.
