Ruffnecs formed in the summer of 2001, i (herbalist) had been listening to hip-hop since i was 12 then i gradually started getting into metal through my brother and ended up playing bass in his band when i was 15. We had played afew gigs but after 4 years we felt like the band had run it's course. I still maintained listening to hip-hop and got into drum and bass to, thats when i started writing rhymes down, then CONTRAST came into the picture.He caught wind of what i was doing and soon gripped the pen. We had already been friends since school and i knew he liked hip-hop, so i got him involved.We started out freestyling and rhyming our verses over instrumentals, we never knew how far we would take it and we still don't, we've just got a passion for making music. so in late 2005 we decided we didn't just want books full of rhymes,we wanted our own beats and albums. So we got a laptop and some music programs and got to work on our first cd LONG TIME WAITING. As soon as we finished it in the summer of 2006 we wanted more and already had the itch to get started on another project. So we made mixtapes why we were getting better recording equipment and plotting the next album (HIDDEN ANTHOLOGY). Now we're where we wanna be, we're carry on doing what we love making are own sound and writing the thinking man's rhymes.
