About Me

denisepollard.com
Photography + Bands = Love
I've been doing band photography since May '05, and it's been a whirlwind and ultimately has landed me with the love of my life, Jason Rice.
I have a website at denisepollard.com, and am working on a webzine at e11evenmag.com
I love my Padres. My family has followed them since the Lane Field days (before they were a major league team). I'm a 4th generation San Diegan and proud of it!
I have a degree in astrophysics.
I work for Kaiser Permanente. Right now I work at the front desk, checking people in and making appointments, but school is calling me back... not sure if I wanna go Business/Admin or get certified to be a tech in radiology, but Nuclear Medicine or X-Rays is sounding pretty interesting to me.
I have a cockatiel, and he is my baby. I love him to pieces.
I am currently reading Harry Potter #5.
I've gone to Vegas more times in this last year than my entire life before then.
And if I get to know you well enough you might get me to really talk about that shirley temple thing of mine ;)

"I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use." --Galileo Galilei
Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today.
"You will come this way only once. Do it right." --from the poem Dream Big, author unknown
I think I'll go to Boston... I think I'll start a new life, I think I'll start it over, where no one knows my name
I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset
Wait dear, a white horse is walking down my street here, Your words are creeping at my feet I fear, sunrise will come to soon and you'll disappear Into the haze of this city and go south...
Late nights, won't do me justice, Cause when I drink...I just get so damn depressed, And its not like, I ain't trying to get over you. It's just hard to look at all the seasons, pass me over too...
cause it's 5 o'clock, the hour stops the sunlight, the buildings shade the masquerade and kill time, here we're nothin more than fools and whores and sad highs, through the summer sand, we're living in a wasteland
so put me on a plane, and fly me to anywhere...with you...
Desperate we are young Seperate we are one I want more than my desperation I Want more than my lonely nation
Stars lookin at our planet watching entropy and pain And maybe start to wonder how the chaos in our lives could pass as sane
when I look at the stars I feel like myself
Happy is a yuppie word Nothing in the world could fail me now It's empty as an argument I'm running down a life that won't cash out
Happy is a yuppie word Blessed is the man who's lost it all
I want more than simple cash can buy
Looking for an orphanage I'm looking for a bridge I can't burn down I don't believe the emptiness
Sex is industry, The CEO, of corporate policy Skin-deep ministry, Suburban youth, hail your so-called liberty
Sex is easier than love
It's easier to leave, It's easier to lie, It's harder to face ourselves at night
She's undone tonight, she's all used up, She's been staring down the demons Who've been screaming She's just another so and so
You are golden, Don't let go Don't let go tonight
There's a fear that burns like trash inside And your shame of the curse that burns your eyes You've been hiding in your bedroom, Hoping this isn't not how the story has to go It's not the way it goes, It's your book now
like freedom in spring
this is the real thing no rubber bullets now
We are one, tonight!
And we're dreaming out loud
Let's slow the evening down Slow it down Slow down Please slow down
Look up at the rain The beautiful display Of power and surrender
Pain, give yourself a name Call yourself contrition Avarice or blame
We were meant to live for so much more Have we lost ourselves?
don't close your eyes this is your life and today is all you've got now yeah, and today is all you'll ever have
this is your life, are you who you want to be
I want more than just ok
More than fine, more than bent on getting by
I dare you to move
I dare you to move Like today never happened before
Maybe redemption has stories to tell Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell Where can you run to escape from yourself?
We are a beautiful let down, Painfully uncool, The church of the dropouts The losers, the sinners, the failures and the fools
All the riches of the kings end up in wills
But everything inside you knows There's more than what you've heard There's so much more than empty conversations Filled with empty words
I'm standing on the edge of everything I've never been before
I want to see miracles, see the world change
It's a long way from Miami to LA It's a longer way from yesterday To where I am today
It's a long way from The moon up to the sun It's a longer ahead of me The road that I've begun
I can see the stars From way down here
But see now, I'm down Under the pavement Of capital hills and lowercase people
I'm a plane in the sunset With nowhere to land
Let me know that you hear me Let me know your touch Let me know that you love me And let that be enough
I'm living again, awake and alive I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies
Only the losers win they've got nothing to prove They'll leave the world with nothing to lose
