About Me

Hey There! Thanks for checking out my myspace page, i hope you don't spend too much time on here because frankly, there are better things you could be out doing. However, if you are going to stay on my page, I'll try to entertain.
I'm 20 as of the time I'm writing this, going to Bellevue Community College. I've taken an array of classes, most of which have been geared towards music, my true passion. i started playing the trumpet at the age of 15 and worked my ass of to get into the high school band. For more info about this look below.
For those of you wondering about my religious views (seeing as i didn't list it anywhere else on here) I believe that Descartes was wrong and that we are truly capable of having a deity whom hates us, if hate it too strong a word then at least we should consider the fact that our lives might be a practical joke to whomever is looking down on us.
some personal thingsI have a lovely girlfriend named Nicole whom goes to Western Washington University. Together we are becoming more and more active in bringing awareness to overlooked issues in our society. One issue that i am extremely passionate about is the use of drugs and how much of a problem they have become.
actually, I'm anti-anything one can get addicted to. And this is tough because there are a lot of things that seem unavoidable. I realize that i have an addiction to things like video games so i don't purchase them for myself and only play any on sporadic occasions.
I truly believe that a problem in our society is how de-emphasized the fact that alcohol is a drug.
i will say that if you are someone who drinks or smokes that isn't a deal breaker for me (I'm the guy that realizes that too many people smoke to avoid them all), and it will be rare for me to mention the hazards of said activities because i know its really pointless, you already know its hazardous. The real issue i have is that i don't like seeing people i care about harm themselves, especially without admitting to themselves exactly what they're doing.
on a somewhat different note.
I've struggled with depression in the past (genetic), I have been able to find an anti-depressant that i haven't ever heard anyone else mention and that would be Ska. If you don't know what ska is feel free to check out wikipedia for a brief explanation, it's been a couple of years since I've written a paper on it so i might do that sometime soon and put it up on my bulletins.
SKA is the reason for my interest in the trumpet and has drastically changed my life for the better, if theres anything that one should get addicted to, I think it should be something like this, 0 consequences and a happier life style. what more could one want?
*NOTE:I AM NOT OR AT LEAST DO NOT CONSIDER MY SELF STRAIGHT EDGE, BUT I PRETTY MUCH FOLLOW THEIR LIFE STYLE*

with music being so influential in my life it makes sense that this would be important I have recently gained significant interest in Deaf culture (not too recently, for a long time I've believed that to be a good musician you need to have an appreciation for the lack of sound, also known as the other half of music, the notes not being played).

HERE ARE SOME MUSIC QUOTES
Albert Einstein
He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice.

Katie Greenwood
Music isn't just learning notes and playing them, You learn notes to play to the music of your soul.

Anon
A real leader faces the music, even when he doesn't like the tune.

Red Auerbach
Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.

Pat Conroy
Without music, life is a journey through a desert.

Noel Coward
Extraordinary how potent cheap music is.

George Eliot (1819-80), [Mary Ann Evans] British writer
There is no feeling, except the extremes of fear and grief, that does not find relief in music.

Aretha Franklin, [Queen of Soul] Motown singer, performer
I've always felt rock and roll was very, very wholesome music.

Harlan Howard
Country music is three chords and the truth.

George Jellinek
The history of a people is found in its songs.

Billy Joel
I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music.

Geoffrey Latham
Music is the vernacular of the human soul.

Hal A. Lingerman
Just as certain selections of music will nourish your physical body and your emotional layer, so other musical works will bring greater health to your mind.

Pietro Mascagni
Modern music is as dangerous as narcotics.

Theodore Mungers
Like everything else in nature, music is a becoming, and it becomes its full self, when its sounds and laws are used by intelligent man for the production of harmony, and so made the vehicle of emotion and thought.

Ernest Newman
A good composer is slowly discovered a bad composer is slowly found out.

Friedrich Nietzsche
Without music, life would be an error. The German imagines even God singing songs.

Mark Twain (1835-1910) - Famous Writer
Wagner's music is better than it sounds.

Charlie Parker Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to art.

Jesse Micheals "Music is an indirect force for change, because it provides an anchor against human tragedy. In this sense, it works towards a reconciled world. It can also be the direct experience of change. At certain points during some shows, the reconciled world is already here, at least in that second, that place. Operation Ivy was very lucky to have experienced this. Those seconds reveal that the momentum that drives a subculture is more important then any particular band. The momentum is made of all the people who stay interested, and keep their sense of urgancy and hope."
& also by Jesse
"The static pulse inside of music bringing us escape
It's always temporary changing nothing in its wake
Just a second while we're leaving all this shit behind
Just a second cause it's leaving jsut this much in mind
To resist despair that second makes you see
To resist despair cause you can't change everything
To resist despair in this world is, what it is what it is what it is To be free."
