About Me

right now, this very minute, i am an east-coast girl who loved, but (prematurely?) left that LA world. every day, always, i am: a caretaker, who sometimes needs taking care of, a closet geek, a secret cool girl, a mother to my cousins, a daughter to my mother, an idealist, a quirky word-loving, sound-mimicking, sport-playing, world-embracing aspiring revolutionary on the straight track (is that the right path?). sometimes i like to play at being everything, and most of the time i bounce around between my many selves. they are all who i am. my family is most important to me, and my good friends are like my family. i hope to leave the world a better place.

My Interests

i like to wake up early, and i often stay up (tho not always out) late. i love to people watch. i think the park, the airport, and grocery stores hold more interesting people than you'd imagine...or at least normal people doing interesting things. i love to meet new people and I'm always intersted in good conversation and quick wit. other things that strike a chord...reading, politiking, cooking, eating great food, catching a movie, doing anything outdoors, most things athletic, and adoring my family. oh, and a little beach-side "ionic positivity".

I'd like to meet:

if you can read a book, toss a ball, and carry on intelligent conversation...all at the same time, of course, and while making me laugh...i think we'd have a good start.

Music:

hip hop gets me moving, and i like to relax to classic rock, the oldies, joss stone, norah jones, coldplay, manu chao, and -- admittedly -- all things madonna.

Movies:

Amelie, Donnie Darko, Memento, Kill Bill, Fight Club, Mad Hot Ball Room, Half Nelson, Little Miss Sunshine, Love and Basketball, most movies that leave you thinking, and good romantic comedies...the formula works on me, and i never mind being entertained.

Television:

i don't have tv this year. it's a good thing. i'm loving my late night games, conversations, and dvd's. that being said, i still don't miss an episode of grey's. i can't help myself.

Books:

amazing adventures of kavalier and clay, the red tent, good in bed, the giving tree, where the red fern grows, memoirs, historical fiction.

Heroes:

revolutionaries, healers, and free-thinking world betterers.
