The band started 2001 with playing for the opening of the Cinemafrica Festival in Stockholm at Kulturhusets Terass. A good memory from this gig was when the electricity cut off and the band, consisting of so many acoustic instruments, continued to play in the dark in the middle of the night like nothing happened for the 5-10 minutes it took to get electricity back.After that SVO has performed at Fasching, Nalen and Musikmuseet all in Stockholm. At Fasching and Musikmuseet in cooperation with special coreography by coreographer Ingrid Olterman and her dancers. Also the orchestra celebrated the Swedish National Day in the multi-cultural hood of Skärholmen 2006.The music composed of percussionist Kristina Aspeqvist is inspired of many years of travelling and studies in west Africa. Mixed with many other influences as well.
