About Me

My name is Marvin.
I just finished my second Olympic-distance triathlon (1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 10K run) called Lavaman in Hawaii on April 6th as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training ; my first one was Wildflower in 2007. I love animals, although I'm semi-allergic to cats and dogs. I'm right-handed. I can wiggle my ears. I'm a Leo, with Cancer tendencies (or so my friend tells me). I'm Korean and Japanese. I was born in Hawaii, raised in Arizona, and live in California, so I've been in the sun my entire life. I like to wear ties, scarves, and vests (not necessarily in that order). I cheat on crossword puzzles. My favorite card game is Speed; my favorite drinking game is a tie between Asshole and Fuck the Dealer. My nickname is Korea Fish, or just Fish. I'm a pop culture junkie. I would wear flip flops all the time if I could get away with it. I usually sleep with the TV or radio on, or need some type of background noise to fall asleep. I'm a singer, but only in the car or privacy of my bedroom. I would like to go on more road trips this year, but sitting in a car for an extended period of time doesn't sound that appealing. My current favorite drink is Rumplemintz, on the rocks. I think Coca-Cola and ibuprofen is the best hangover cure. A perfect snack for me consists of rice and kim chee, with some seaweed; I love Korean food. I'm idealistic (sometimes to my disadvantage). Some people call me a social butterfly, but I know and appreciate who are my true friends. I collect matchbooks from different venues. I'm a total game nerd and I love "Dance, Dance Revolution" and "Guitar Hero." I'm completely loyal. I love shaved ice because it reminds me of growing up in Hawaii. I'm studying humanistic buddhism (although I don't believe in the "institution" of religion). I love meeting new people, and the rush I feel after having a long, meaningful conversation with someone. I have a metal rod in my right leg. Sometimes, and only sometimes, I'm afraid of the dark (my Mom let me watch too many horror movies growing up). I have a tattoo on my left forearm of my Japanese family name, which means "beautiful castle," and I'm considering getting another tattoo of my Korean name. If you can't tell by my pictures, I'm a little bit of a party boy, but I also like to spend quiet nights at home (from time to time) and unwind watching a movie or reading a book.
