About Me

Back in August 2007, Shane and Cara Leopard began writing songs by accident and recording them with a mic and a computer in their bedroom. A myspace was created to share the songs with friends. They called the project "Science of Sydney" after their daughter, Sydney, and her peculiar nature. A few songs later, Shane and Cara decided to form a full band. Shane had been in a few rock and roll bands with Jerod Crawford (Jedi 5, Texas Weapons, Princess Ladyfriend) and asked him to play drums. They began collaborating in January of 2008. Jerod also contributed a lot of material on guitar which became half of the S.O.S. catalog. Shortly after, Jordan Warner (Girl Repellent, Banned From Japan) came on to play guitar and Sam Meacham (Isla and Ilha) shortly joined as bassist. Science of Sydney began rehearsing as a full band in early February 2008. The band started tracking their untitled full length album in late April with producer Marcus Howard at Flying Blanket Studios in Mesa, AZ. The album is finished and exclusively for sale through SNOCAP at our myspace page. We will be printing it in the next few weeks as we begin building our merchandise. Things have moved relatively quickly and we are excited for the album and the performances to follow. Science of Sydney would also like to thank everyone for their support!
