In fact, at first sight you would be more likely to think Jake was in a boy band. Jake strives to bring a completely different image to the rap scene. Biography
When you grow up in Dayton, every one represents a hood. A different side of the city. The East Side is all Just Jake ever knew. The place were kids know nothing else but to try to be hard, because they were raised up by criminals and felons. Where kids start smoking cigarettes and dope when they are 10... But as for JUST JAKE, who grew up just like they did, he chose a different path. Jake was born March 2nd, 1986 in Dayton, Ohio. Jake's day of birth, was nearly his day of death. Coming out of the womb with his insides outside of his body. Jake under went intensive surgery and the doctors were able to save his life, leaving him with a permanent scar on his stomach. Just Jake was raised around red neck, rowdy white folks. Being exposed to drugs, criminal activity and plethora of other non "Brady Bunch" type of things.
Just Jake originally turned to sports as an escape from every day struggles in which he was an all star... but in the long run he could not stay out of trouble and maintain the grades in school to play. He then discovered a love for being in the spot light, the center of attention. In middle school Just Jake and friends began filming a comedy series on VHS tapes "The JT Show". The low budget, but hilarious videos kept many class mates at school entertained and the demand for more grew. At that point Jake began taking commercial songs off of the radio and making parody versions, sort of like Weird Al. That wasn't enough for Jake, he then began to create his own songs and recording them accapella on to a cassette tape through a boom box. At that point Jake realized making music was the one thing he wanted to continue doing, so they ditched the idea of making it as famous comedians.
By high school Jake was rolling full steam on the dream of becoming a famous rap star, passing up on parties and other activities kids his age were doing. By his Junior year, Jake has established him self in the community as an artist, but had gained a lot of enemies in the process. Constantly fighting and being forced to watch his back in school, Jake could no longer concentrate on school work... So just like both of his parents, he dropped out. A few months later, Jake received the biggest news of his life... he was going to be a father. The now high school drop out, starving artist who at the time was living off of his father was forced to man up and take responsibility for the life he created.
At age 18, Jake landed a job at General Motors. He was able to afford an apartment and get his new family out of the "hood". Jake continued to invest in his music and record many songs. In 2005, Jake was laid off of work and put right back in to a bad situation, forced to ditch the apartment and Jake took many bad hits to his credit. A few months later Jake auditioned for "Fashon Rock" a nationally televised talent competition and was offered a position. Unfortunately Jake was forced to decline due to his financial situation, because at that point Jake was basically living out of his car. Jake vowed to never let this happen again.
In 2006 Jake's buzz was at an all time high riding off the success of his smash single "Remember". Jake received offers from various Record companies but was not in position at the time to accept although he was moving hundreds of units via the internet. By the time Jake turned 21, his life was one big non stop party. He was doing less music, and more chasing females... but still performing his music from time to time at local bars. In 2007, Just Jake hooked up with local emcee Marq Muziq and the two released the song "You Could Be My Baby" which blew up locally. Jake was becoming a local celebrity, being recognized as "Just Jake" at various places he went. Jake rode on the success of that single until 2008 when he was booked with an entertainment company "StarPower" touring the United States setting up dance competitions and promoting his music. Jake is planning on releasing his debut album "Executive Decision" by the end of the year nationally under a major or independent record label.
