Friendship is a sheltering tree

About Me

I am an artist. There, I said it...I'm an artist. That's hard to admit sometimes. I've gotten to the point where just sitting around the house is no longer relaxing for me. I like to get out there and see what's around me, try new things, spend time with others and not be such an introvert. I try to always be kind to people and hope to be a positive influence on those I meet. I've embraced the fact that I have Multiple Sclerosis and tend to look at it as more of a gift than a curse. Disneyland, baby animals, and good food can all make me squeal with delight. I always root for the underdog and I question everything.

My Interests

Disneyland, pressed pennies, children's books, cartoons, art, Edward Gorey, spirituality, ghosts, Morgan (my niece), halloween, death, cemeteries and mausoleums, cremation, Day of the Dead, circus freaks and human oddities, pirates, pencils (yes, pencils), my dogs, constantly learning new and old things, seeking out the good in people, honesty, beauty in darkness and sorrow, spending time with friends I love, and creating art in various forms.

I'd like to find some friends with similar interests to me, or even those with completely different interests who can teach me a thing or two. People who are interested in the darker side of life, but can still keep it clean. People who's eyes sparkle...those who are passionate about what they do. I'm also looking for fellow Disneyland fanatics.

My favorite band of all time is Oingo Boingo. Other artists I enjoy are AFI, Stolen Babies, The Winter Sounds, Shakira, Tiger Army, White Stripes, The Cure, VNV Nation, Voltaire, The Cult, Dead Can Dance, DeVotchKa, old Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Kay Kyser Orchestra, Blaqk Audio, Traveling Wilburys, Rod Miller, Elmer Bernstein, They Might Be Giants, Smashing Pumpkins, Firehouse Five Plus Two, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Riders in the Sky, Glen Miller, on and on. I love sea shanties, ragtime piano, dixieland jazz, classical, and organ music. I also love music from the Disney theme parks and Danny Elfman film scores...
