Dillon Chevalier is a singer/songwriter originally from Gilmer, TX. Now residing in the city of College Station and attending Texas A&M University with a major in Wildlife & Fisheries Science, his primary musical focus is on playing as many shows as possible, in an attempt to develop his performance and songwriting ability.
When Dillon graduated high school in 2005, he moved to Denton, TX where he attended college and began his solo musical career, which had a slightly different feel from the rock and roll bands he had previously taken part in. September of 2005 marked his first solo show, which was an open mic series at the now deceased Frog Theatre in Ft. Worth, TX in front of just a handful of people. His persistence in performing gradually led to the development of a following in the Denton/Dallas area.
While in Denton, Dillon’s first release occurred in January of 2005 when he recorded “The Gentle Breeze EP†with Martin Baird of Verge Music Works in Dallas, TX. The EP consisted of 5 songs including “Caney Creek†and “The Gentle Breeze,†both of which not only contributed to the direction of the EP, but to his sound in general.
Dillon’s decision to transfer colleges and move to College Station was one with bittersweet taste. Although the move was beneficial for his education, he now had an unknown name in an unfamiliar place. Nevertheless, the thought of starting over and trying to make a name and fan base for himself only motivated him to do just that. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for his name to start appearing on newspapers and calendars in the area.
Recently, Dillon Chevalier has recorded and released his first full-length album called “Across From Me.†The album was recorded by Andy Teel of Studio 117, a division of Auburn Music Group, nested in the city of Longview, TX. Featuring 12 original songs including “North Song,†“Across From Me,†and “Everything Dies,†the album has received much positive feedback and opened many doors for the aspiring songwriter.
