Singing is a passion I've had since before I knew what passion was. Its something that is just in you. Sometimes it feels like the only way you can communicate something to someone is through song. I like to drive around the city and look at the landscaping here. Its absolutely gorgeous to be able to see the mountains as I drive home from work. I love playing with my "Baby" Caelan. Even though he's nowhere near a baby anymore, he knows he'll always be my baby, even when he has babies of his own (he wants 10 kids!) I love reminiscing about my "Barbie Doll" Kahlia and how much we talked about EVERYTHING. I still buy clothes, shoes and hair products for her, even though it's been over 6 months since we've seen her. We all miss her so much!
I'd like to meet:
Interesting people from anywhere, particularly here in Phoenix. As much as I love my babies and Scott, I need a life, too. Anyone that likes to perform musically. Anyone who is fun and a bit weird because thats me. My fantasy meeting would be to meet Anita Baker (singer), Jesus (to ask what he was doodling in the ground before he rose Lazarus from the dead), and Justin Timberlake (to convince him that we have to sing a duet together...it would be beautiful! I already have the song picked out and everything! It's "Candlelight and You" by Chante Moore and Keith Washington.)
Music:
Okay, so this is the cutest little girl ever!! All my Earth Wind and Fire fans will be able to understand the love this girl has for them... .. width="425" height="350".. ..
.. width="425" height="350".. ..It changes with my mood. Lately, I've been obsessed with Amy Winehouse, T.I., and T-Pain. I've rediscovered Earth, Wind and Fire (love them!!!), and Frankie Valli. I've been downloading a ton of songs for my Ipod. I've been loving Erykah Badu, Maxwell, Anthony Hamilton, Carl Thomas and Sade lately. I'll always be an Nsync fan...even though its not so cool to be. I'm waiting for the reunion...quit messing around, Justin and get back to your roots!!!!!
Movies:
I love romantic comedies and pretty much anything I can have extreme emotions with, either laughing hysterically or crying like my dog died are good. So on that note: Forrest Gump, any Jay and Silent Bob movies, Kings and Queens of Comedy, Love Actually, anything by Tyler Perry, The Neverending Story movies, the Matrix trilogy, Happy Feet (That movie is soooooooooo cute! Y'all need to see it)
Television:
.. width="425" height="350".. ..
So, the majority of my interests in TV lately have been almost anything on Discovery Health, TLC, and the Discovery Channel. I love Law and Order, Scrubs, Ugly Betty (my hubby-to-be bought me the first season on DVD for Christmas. BIG mistake because he didn't watch TV in the bedroom for weeks!), Project Runway, and Make Me A Supermodel.
Books:
Now, this is one of the hardest to add to. I love to read! I love anything by Zane (especially Nervous), Eric Jerome Dickey, Carl Webber, Michael Baisden, Mary Monroe, Brenda Beamon-Isabell (my god-mother!), Lolita Files...I love the book "Bastard Out of Carolina". I recently bought a book called "Between, Georgia" by Joshilyn Jackson. That was an awesome book! Also "Lazy Eye". Its a good book but I just couldn't put down Ms. Jackson's book. Books are something that I can never have enough of. If anyone has any suggestions on great reading thats not too pretentious, let me know!
Heroes:
My Granny passed Saturday, August 6, 2005 and its unfortunate that more people didn't get to meet her because she was such a wonderful woman. She's everything that I strive to be. She was warm and compassionate and not afraid to cuss you out with a smile. She would give you the shirt off her back if she thought you needed it and was just smooth and classy. She lived a long, fulfilling life. I can honestly say that my grandmother never regretted any of the decisions she had made while she was here. I miss her so much, sometimes I cry, but I know deep in my heart that she's happy and she's proud of me.I also admire my mom and aunts, even though they get on my nerves from time to time, they mean well. And Mo'Nique and Toccarra: They give Fat Girls serious confidence. Its about time that they put out there that we are just as beautiful, if not more so than those hungry-looking heffa's that hate on us. Not all skinny girls are evil, though....just the ones that think they are better than us.....never that!
