STASIS

That's Stasis...With A Long 'A'.

About Me

STASIS, first formed in April 2002, hails from the small Midwestern town of Galesburg, Illinois. Surrounded by cornfields and combines, the four members started the band when they were in high school in an attempt to cure the boredom of small town life. Four and a half years later, Stasis is still going strong. With a 5 song demo and one full length album under their belt, they are currently working on their second full length and self-released album, yet to be named.
Each member of Stasis brings his/her own musical background into the creation of each and every original song. Kenny Rogers [guitar] brings a background of playing bass into his style of guitar with powerful and rhythmic power chord progressions and intricate verses. Ryan Canier [bass] brings his knowledge of playing upright bass to the equation with a perfect mix of highs and lows that not only back up the melody of the guitar, but can also become the lead melody of a song. Corey Disbennett [drums] brings a mass variety of drumming to Stasis with influences in everything ranging from metal and progressive rock to jazz and blues. When you add Amanda Marquith [vocals] to the mix, you get an intense experience musically with personal and thought provoking lyrics to make Stasis unique in every aspect. With at least 40 original songs made, Stasis has been able to play shows lasting as long as 3 hours long. With that said, Stasis would gladly be willing to come and play at a venue near you with any band. We respect anyone that has a musical talent no matter what they play or what genre of music they contribute to.
