I am here for Friends

About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4 i'm originally from houston, texas, raised in austin. i've been living in grand rapids and traverse city, michigan for 7 years (michigan is a beautiful place to visit but i don't like living there, too much snow). i am a painting and photography double major at kendall college of art and design in GR. i plan on going to grad school for painting next fall because i want to be a professor. i love teaching, i love painting so it will be easy to combine the two. traveling is also a huge passion for me. the world is an amazing place and there are so many magnificent places to see, it's a shame we're alive for such a short time. my family fortunately loves traveling too. we've gone on road trips all over america, and i've had the privledge of living in chicago and new york city for a spell. my family is incredibly important to me, they are right up there with my best friends. i have one brother (younger by two years) who is a damn genius. he's going into physics. my parents are still married after 30 years, seeing them interact still gives me hope that real love is possible. my dad is a graphic designer, my mom is going back to school to find herself. i have wonderful friends who i love all across the country (which is why i'm finally giving in and getting a fucking myspace). i'm a person looking to move and to be moved, i want to leave my mark in subtle ways, i am passionate and unique and that's me in a nutshell... a very tiny nutshell...

My Interests

we've already established that i love drawing and painting and taking photos, i love reading (mostly non fiction), i play guitar but only by myself, i love to sing when i'm driving, i like to go on long drives by myself to think (and sing), i watch alot of movies (i've become a film buff from dating two film majors), again, i love traveling. i love cats and trick or treating on easter weekend with my friends. i like themed parties and bad puns. i like pun themed parties, recreational psychadelia and dancing in my under wear whe no one's looking. i collect coins from antiquity and other countries (but not stamps cuz that's lame...), i love sushi and vietnamese food, organizing other people's things (but not mine) and life in general...

I'd like to meet:

... my grandfather, for starters. i hear he wasn't such an interesting person but family is family. i would love to meet leonard shlain (i think he's still alive), he wrote all three of my favorite books. the dali lama seems like an incredible person. um, cindy sherman, george harrison, cleopatra, susan b. anthony, virginia woolf, andy warhol (to kick him in the shin), picasso, dali, francis bacon, amedeo modigliani, egon schille, mucha, gustave klimt... i don't know i'm bad at this game, i think a more appropriate question for me would be places i want to see before i die: prague, st. petersburg, thailand, rio, peru, ireland, scotland, sweeden, switzerland, germany (for the chocolate), amsterdam, israel, spain (madrid in particular), venice, vienna, the grand canyon, mammoth caves, the redwood forest. places i have seen and will never forget until i am old and senile: nyc, chicago, boston, paris, giverny, lyon, rome, sarento, pompei, florence, london, destin in florida, mt. rushmore, montana, washington state, arizona, mexico, whistler/blackcomb/vancouver in canada, bonnaroo in tenn., northern california, basically everything in between texas and michigan, texas and washington, texas and florida and from michigan to boston.
