About Me

i'm awfully intimidated by this writing prompt, so i'll just try to picture it in its underwear. about me: my name is heather. some call me heather-lee. that's my name too, i guess. that and heather feather. i'd rather spend a day in the woods than a day in the mall. when i watch movies, i like to think about the actors trying to ignore all the cameras around them. i like dark wood furniture and soft sheets. i'm a whistler, a skipper, a hummer, a singer... and i ain't got no shame about it. ask me where i'm from. i'll say houston. when i'm sad, i like listening to happy music, which makes me more sad. i'd love to be an animal handler or behavioral scientist - i think both titles sound intriguing and i'd be damn good at it. animals love me.

Statue Dog

There's this neighborhood on the east side of town where all the street names are old Indian words and instead of ending in "street" or "avenue" they end in "Nene." There's a house there with a big ba...
