Starting from playing the piano by ear as an infant, music has always been the dominant form of emotional expression for me. Throughout my life I have written, recorded, and experimented with several different types of music. Never writing songs to impress the masses with formulaic pop structures or phony artsy self-indulgence, I only try to interpret what I feel inside in an audiable form. I believe that music doesn't always need a voice to be lyrical, and a whole lot is being said in instrumental music if the consumer is really listening. In 2007, my debut album DISCERNING BETWEEN NEEDS & WANTS was released and has been an introductory platform showcasing a broad range of musical ideas. Due to an increasing obsession with minimalism, newer recordings have been focused more on textures and layers, rather than melody and rhythm. Currently I have been writing new material and developing new concepts for a future sophmore album. I perform most tracks from my ROLAND XP-80, and occasionally manipulate sounds using other instruments and samples from film and natural sounds."Discerning Between Needs & Wants" is a concept album that is inspired by dreams and nostalgia, and to a lesser extent, nature. The collection of songs sometimes were not planned out in their making, but formed themselves in trying to capture something familiar in the subconcious, although not fully attainable or of clear understanding. They are songs that try to emulate or bring out the distant feelings, moods, and senses experienced in dreams and nostalgia. The album was recorded during the summer of 2006.
