I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

The concert season starts this weekend! It'll be back to work for my fiance and I during weekends. Still haven't done much relaxing. Checked out some shows, got lost in New Orleans (I wasn't lost, my fiance lost me), hung out with friends back in the IE, drove to AZ at night in snow storm to see mi hermano, and of course worked. I'm 29, love to check out live music, hang out with friends, and of course drive my fiance crazy.I did what most 909'ers do and moved from the area. Moved to San Diego for a few months, but landed a job in the concert business. Work is in Hollywood. Getting ready to move to North Hollywood. It's been 1 year and damn it's nice to visit the 909 (uhemm 951 too). It may be valley of the dirt and lifted trucks, but it's still home. Just like most 909'ers who move away, I will be back someday. I'm an IE mutt, growing up in Moreno Valley, Riverside, and San Bernardino. I've always had a passion for music. Tried out the drums in the garage of a friends house. That's the only time I played an instrument. Mostly the passion lead me to do a radio show at KUCR, spend a lot of money on concert tickets, intern for radio stations, and of course, now it's part of my job.A little more about me: Been compared to a wild stallion that can not be tamed. Not all true. I'm a free spirit. I like to have fun and am easy to get along with. I can be shy, but mostly I like to sit back and check things out.The rest will be continued...

My Interests

Music, from rock, alternative rock, to classical. Not really a country fan. I love going to concerts! The last show I went to outside of work was Muse at The Forum. I also enjoy skiing, but last time I went was with KCAL about 3 years ago.

I'd like to meet:

I'm here to connect with old friends. It's cool to catch up! So far, I've found some people I've missed and some of them have found me.The good friends I have mean a lot to me. I've been told this before: "quality not quantity"... and it is so true!

Music:

I've been listening to a lot of 80's alternative lately. Still on the lookout for new bands w/ new sounds. some bands that will forever be favorites: Jeff Buckley, The Verve, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Muse, and Spiderworks! That doesn't mean I'm limited to these selections though.

Movies:

I like movies that make me think, like American Beauty. But, I also like movies like Austin Powers, Blow, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Wedding Crashers. Okay, okay... my fiance finally got me to see Old School and Be Cool, hilarious!

Television:

Rome. Entourage. Sopranos. Six Feet Under.Sex and the City Other than these shows, I'd rather be out or listening to music. Check out this skit for a big laugh: SNL Fred Armisen Parrot sketch

Books:

The last book I attempted to read was Beloved.

Heroes:

My mother has been the person to keep me going. She has been through really tough times, but still came out alive and successful. There is one other person who has given me some words of inspiration and I don't even know him. I was 14 and ran into Lonnie from War. It's pretty simple, but he told me "don't ever say you can't do something". It has stuck with me ever since. He told me this because I told him I couldn't go backstage with him and the band because I didn't have a pass. Duh, I was with the band! So, that quote has kept me focused on the things in life that seemed unaccomplishable.
