My name is Jay and I book music, art, and film events in the San Francisco Bay Area, primarily. I'm currently head booker (since 12/06) at Gilman in Berkeley,CA, but I'm always looking for warehouses, galleries, and clubs that are interested in experiencing the UGZ movement, up close and personal. UGZ is known for booking a wide variety of musical styles and genres, but if we're not into it, then we won't book it. It's a labor of love for myself, and our many supporters over the years. I will also include some events that strike a chord with me, and really should be of interest to anyone who has followed UGZ for any length of time. It was our first account on myspace, and ended up being used for everything, but will now return to being a magazine site.Our top friends list will consist of people that inspire us, work with us, and or share a similar point of view when it comes to organizing, networking, and most importantly: Staying true to what you believe and represent, no matter how popular or unpopular it might be at any given moment.
