In 1843, Don Facuno Bacardi married Dona Amalia Moreau, a union that gave birth to today's Bacardi family. Less than two decades later. Don Facundo purchased a small tin roofed distillery and began production of his world's great Bacardi Rums in Santiago de Cuba.
