About Me

Check out the website for my business!
I play guitar and "sing" in Bury the Survivors, an Iowa City thrash/metal band. I own my house and rent out rooms to help pay the bills, which works great until someone doesn't pay or decides to move out without warning. I'm really into scooters and have a '77 Vespa Rally 200 and a modded '03 Yamaha Vino. I am also really into lowriders but sold all my cars except for my '53 Chevy 210 hardtop, which is in desperate need of attention. I have skateboarded off and on since 1987, but the past year has been more of an "off" year. I have been straightedge and vegetarian for what seems like forever, but I won't get up in your face for not being one. I have been seeing my girlfriend, Michelle for almost 2 years now. She likes scooters, metal and horror movies, so I guess I'm keeping her.
Check out my website, mishap.biz . It is home to Bury the Survivors, the Iowa City punk archives, and what's left of my clothing business.

I'd like to meet:

If you want to add me, please read...

I usually only add people I know, but I like meeting cool new people. If you think we'd get along and have a lot in common, just send me a message introducing yourself, I'll check out your profile, and probably add you.

I will only add a band for 2 reasons. Either I know them personally or REALLY like them. It also helps if you're a local band. Feel free to send me a request for your band, but don't take it personally if I don't add you. I don't like sifting through 100 bands when I just want to send someone a quick message.

As always, anyone can add my band. In fact, please do! We very seldom send out bulletins, and NEVER post junk on people's comments. Click the link below to go to our page to add us or to just check us out. Thanks!

Basement Studio Remodeling Pictures

I finally turned my basement into a comfortable practice and recording space from a dingy nasty basement. I'm still working on getting some old pictures up, but for now here's just the latest phase of...

Iowa City Tornado Pics!

I finally shrunk down these pictures so they don't freeze up my computer everytime I go to my blogs. I don't really have any good stories about the tornado, so I'll keep it short so you can get to the...

Every Band I've Ever Seen

Well, almost. This is a partial list since I have ADD. I thought it'd be fun to see how many I could remember. Then, when I'm old(er) and senile(er) I can have a list to tell my grandchildren. Looking...

How to talk to a vegetarian....

I wrote this over 2 years ago, but I decided it needed to be revisited.  At least one a week for the past 8 years I've heard, "I just couldn't live without a big, juicy steak!" That's like 400 ti...

Last night was the Vader and Jungle Rot show in the Quad Cities. I love both those bands, but I was reminded of how irritating Metal shows are. I have been going to mostly Hardcore shows for the pas...
